Help us use digital innovation to make a difference for children and families across Lancashire

At Lancashire County Council, we're committed to ensuring children, young people and families receive the right help, at the right time, in the right way. As part of this commitment, we're looking for a Family Hubs Digital Support Officer to join our Children and Family Wellbeing Service and help shape the future of digital service delivery across our Best Start in Life Family Hubs.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about technology, enjoys solving problems, and wants to make a real impact in communities across Lancashire.

About the Role

The Children and Family Wellbeing Service (CFW) sits within Lancashire County Council's Education and Children's Services and delivers Early Help and Best Start in Life Family Hub provision for children and young people aged 0-19 years, or up to 25 years for those with special educational needs and disabilities, and their families.

As our Family Hubs Digital Support Officer , you'll play a vital role in ensuring the digital systems that support frontline services are effective, reliable and easy to use. Working closely with Family Hub teams and Digital Services colleagues, you'll provide practical, hands-on support that helps staff and families get the most from our digital offer.

From supporting tablet-based sign-in systems and digital signage to improving SharePoint processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and helping teams embrace emerging technologies such as Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled solutions, you'll be at the heart of our digital transformation journey.

This is far more than a traditional IT support role. You'll work directly with services, building staff confidence, improving digital processes, and ensuring technology helps us deliver better outcomes for children and families.

What You'll Be Doing

- Providing practical digital and technical support across Lancashire's Family Hubs
- Troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day digital issues within operational settings
- Supporting systems including PNET, BSIL applications, tablet-based sign-in solutions, SharePoint, Power Automate and digital signage
- Working with colleagues to improve digital processes and user experiences
- Supporting the implementation and adoption of new technologies and AI-enabled tools
- Acting as a key link between frontline services and Digital Services teams
- Helping staff build confidence and capability in using digital systems effectively
- Contributing to continuous service improvement and digital innovation

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

- Enthusiastic about technology and digital innovation
- A confident problem solver with excellent organisational skills
- Able to communicate technical information in a clear and supportive way
- Skilled at building positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues
- Adaptable, proactive and keen to learn new technologies
- Passionate about improving services and supporting others

Whether you're already working in a digital support role or looking to build on your existing technical and customer service experience, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Join Us?

You'll be welcomed into a friendly and supportive team where your contribution is valued and your development is encouraged. From day one, you'll receive support from your manager and colleagues, with access to a range of staff networks, wellbeing initiatives and learning opportunities.

In return, you'll benefit from:

- A competitive salary
- 26 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
- Flexible and hybrid working opportunities
- Health and wellbeing support
- Family-friendly policies
- Financial and travel benefits
- Excellent learning and development opportunities
- A positive work-life balance

The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013) . Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.

Throughout this period, our focus remains on delivering excellent services to our communities. By joining us now, you'll play an important role in shaping the future of local government and helping to build a strong new organisation that will serve residents for years to come.

We reserve the right to close down a vacancy early, before the closing date, if we receive sufficient applications.
