The Opportunity
Blue Man Group and VStar are two of live entertainment's most distinctive creative forces — and this is the HR role that supports them both. As HR Business Partner, you will report directly to the President of the BMG & VStar division and contribute to the success of the division's P&L, while maintaining a functional reporting relationship with the Cirque du Soleil Talent leadership team. You will be both a trusted strategic partner to leaders and a key contributor to a new organizational model still being deployed, balancing tactical, day-to-day coaching with the design and implementation of scalable, forward-thinking HR solutions in a fast-paced, creative environment.
What You'll Do
Act as a trusted advisor to leaders across the full spectrum of HR matters — employee relations, compensation, performance management, engagement, talent acquisition, and policy governance
Maintain a solid command of U.S. employment laws and HR regulations, ensuring compliance across all applicable jurisdictions and responding to employee inquiries with accuracy and care
Bridge the BMG & VStar division and the Cirque du Soleil corporate HR team, ensuring strong coordination, alignment, and communication on all people matters
Lead or participate in workplace investigations and employee climate assessments, bringing rigor, discretion, and sound judgment to complex situations
Design and implement HR initiatives that evolve division practices — including performance management, manager onboarding, knowledge transfer, and cultural alignment
Build and deploy practical tools, guides, and training materials that strengthen manager capability and drive adoption of HR practices across the organization
Deliver agile, tailored HR support suited to the fast-moving realities of a creative entertainment environment in constant evolution
What You Bring
Must-Haves:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources Management, or a related field
7–10 years of progressive HR experience, including recognized expertise in employee relations
Proven experience managing complex employee matters with rigor, discretion, and a strategic mindset
Strong project management, facilitation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Excellent command of English, written and spoken
High degree of autonomy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing short- and long-term priorities
Bonus Points For:
Experience in a unionized environment
Experience in or knowledge of creative, technical, artistic, or manufacturing environments
What We Offer
Comprehensive health and dental plan
Complimentary show tickets (4/year) and premiere access
A front-row seat to live entertainment at its most imaginative, and the mandate to build the people foundation that makes it all possible
