Job Summary
You'll shoot and cut the photo and video that carry Topo's seasonal campaigns for our various marketing and sales channels. Our Creative Director sets the concept. You turn it into storyboards and shot lists, then go to the field and bring back work that looks like Topo and works in every channel it lands in. Youll partner with our Creative Operations Coordinator on the production logistics, and will lead our Studio Photographer, who owns product and ecomm imagery. You will ensure the visual language is executed across both, so a customer can't tell where the campaign ends and the product page begins.
What you'll do
- Translate concepts into a plan. Take the Creative Director's concept and build the storyboards, shot lists, location, talent and deliverables list (by channel, format, and aspect ratio) that the whole crew works from.
- Shoot photo and video in the field. Lead the camera on location shoots across Colorado and beyond, directing talent and working in real light and real weather.
- Edit, color, and deliver. Own post from selects through final: retouching, editing, color grading, cutting versions for various channels, uploading and tagging in a DAM by a deadline.
- Lead the Studio Photographer. Align on priorities, review work, give clear feedback, and help them grow. Keep studio and campaign imagery feeling like one brand.
- Partner across the team. Work closely with the Creative Director, Creative Ops Coordinator, and Growth team on what's needed, when, and why.
- Keep the system tidy. Manage gear, file organization, and asset delivery so the team can find and use what you make.
What you bring (must-haves)
- 4-5 years shooting brand or lifestyle content professionally, in-house, agency, or freelance for the outdoor industry
- A portfolio and a reel that show strong work in both photo and video. We weigh these as heavily as your resume.
- Hands-on editing and color for both photo and video (Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro preferred).
- Experience turning a creative brief into a plan and deck, then executing on location.
- Experience leading on set, mentoring, or supervising another photographer or crew.
- A track record of delivering finished assets across multiple channels and formats on deadline.
Nice to have
- Experience with an outdoor, apparel, or lifestyle brand
- FAA Part 107 drone certification
- Audio capture for interviews and documentary-style content
- Motion graphics basics (After Effects or similar)
- Vertical-first social content that performs, not just looks good
- Experience with a DAM or asset library
