We are currently hiring a thoughtful and engaging CNA/PCA to provide one-on-one support for a vibrant senior living independently in her private home in Fairfax. This position is ideal for a caregiver who understands how to balance attentive support with respect for a client's autonomy and preferences.

Position Overview

We are seeking a mature, professional, and proactive CNA/PCA to provide evening support to a client in her 90s who is legally blind and lives independently in her own home. Although she is visually impaired, she is very familiar with her environment and knows where her belongings are located throughout the home.

The ideal caregiver understands the importance of promoting independence while being available when needed. This client values meaningful conversation, appreciates caregivers who take initiative, and prefers support that is respectful rather than overly protective. She is looking for a care professional who can confidently assist with evening routines, provide companionship, and contribute to a safe and comfortable home environment without hovering or "babying" her.

Primary Responsibilities

- Assist with evening routines and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

- Prepare light meals and snacks as needed

- Provide companionship and engaging conversation

- Promote safety while respecting the client's independence and established routines

- Assist with household tasks and light housekeeping

- Offer transportation or errand assistance if needed and authorized

- Monitor for changes in condition and communicate observations to family members and care management staff

- Maintain a clean, organized, and comfortable living environment

Qualifications

- Active CNA license in the state of Virginia (preferred) or experienced PCA

- Experience supporting visually impaired or blind clients preferred

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to provide proactive support while encouraging independence

- Professional, dependable, patient, and respectful

- Comfortable working one-on-one in a private home environment

- Consistent availability for evening shifts Monday through Thursday
