As an Electrical System Quality Engineer within the Vehicle Electronics and Software organization, you will lead process development that sustainably improves electrical system quality. Working across engineering, quality, supplier quality, purchasing, manufacturing, validation, service, and business teams, you will strengthen existing quality systems and ensure they anticipate electrical system issues. You will conduct hands-on investigations, analyze quality data, and lead structured problem-solving efforts addressing complex vehicle electronics and software concerns. • Conduct hands-on vehicle, system, and component teardowns to investigate quality concerns, identify failure mechanisms, and support root cause determination.

• Lead structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as 8D, Red X, Six Sigma, fault-tree analysis, and root cause investigation to establish permanent corrective and preventive actions.

• Perform Quality Operating System assessments across features and controllers to identify process gaps, systemic risks, and continuous improvement opportunities.

• Analyze warranty, field, manufacturing, test, and quality data to identify recurring trends, emerging concerns, and improvement opportunities.

• Collaborate with engineering, validation, manufacturing, supplier quality, and service teams to eliminate recurring failures and systemic issues.

• Validate the effectiveness of corrective actions through data analysis, product evaluation, testing, audits, and other quality assessment activities.

• Develop processes, standards, and quality operating mechanisms that improve product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Desired Competencies:

• Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.

• Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.

• Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Systems, or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering or quality role, including cross-functional work to solve complex technical and quality problems.

• Experience conducting root cause investigations, product failure analysis, and corrective action implementation.

• Electrical systems quality experience is preferred.

• Ability to conduct hands-on vehicle, system, and component investigations and evaluate complex electrical or electronic failure mechanisms.

• Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, Red X, Six Sigma, fault-tree analysis, or similar approaches.

• Ability to interpret warranty, field, manufacturing, test, and quality data to identify trends and validate corrective actions.
