The Accounting Manager is a key member of the finance team, owning core management company accounting and reporting. This is a high-visibility role with direct exposure to firm leadership and a clear path to growing ownership across the full management company close. Our firms finance function is actively modernizing how it works, including through AI and automation, and the right person will help shape that effort. The role offers meaningful responsibility, broad variety across finance workstreams, and real opportunity for professional growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Management Company/Financial Reporting
Own the quarterly management company close and the partner-group reporting package, ensuring it is delivered accurately and on time
Own the management company general ledger, safeguarding the integrity of the firms financial records
Lead budget-to-actual variance analysis and real-time financial reporting, partnering with firm leadership to explain results and inform decisions
Design and build AI-enabled and agentic workflows that automate recurring accounting and reporting processes, improving the speed, accuracy, and scalability of the close
Apply AI tools to strengthen review and analysis, surfacing anomalies, reconciling large data sets, and increasing confidence in the numbers
Manage monitoring fee, portfolio company, and fund reimbursement processes end to end, partnering with fund accounting and portfolio companies to ensure timely billing and collection
Oversee expense allocation reviews in the firms expense allocation software
Partner with external auditors to support the year-end audit
Help administer and continuously improve the firms finance systems, leading process redesign and future system implementations
Corporate Accounting
Contribute to the Carried Interest tracking process, helping ensure accurate and up-to-date records, including performing ad-hoc analyses and reporting as needed
Conduct data modeling and analysis to forecast future investor values for firm-wide application and utilization
Collaborate with the legal team to facilitate the smooth execution of carry transactions and ensure accurate and timely carry allocation reporting
Required Experience
5+ years of prior experience in accounting and financial reporting ideally positions within private equity or other similar financial services or professional services firm.
CPA preferred
Prior hands-on experience using AI tools to improve accounting and reporting processes
Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in financial systems including an ERP
Qualities
Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively
Rigorous attention to detail and a high bar for accuracy and timeliness
Eager to learn new things and willing to take on new responsibilities; self-starter with a desire to expand role and knowledge base to grow professionally
Ability to work both independently as well as part of a team, including taking full ownership of workstreams and processes
A strong orientation toward continuous improvement, including through automation and AI
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The anticipated base salary range is $130K$150K and offers a compelling annual performance bonus, retirement contribution and full health benefits.

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $150000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
