The intent of this web application is to help enable potential Principal Investigators and Project Managers interested in proposing to NASA opportunities, to be competitive as they prepare relevant proposals. Development of the web application will be iterative and tailorable with the first instance fundamental in nature with following iterations covering additional moduals, application of projected cost growth / trends, and other resources. The application will be interactive and modular for ease of use and allow for a tailorable platform to meet the costing requirements for the particular project proposal.

Over the course of the internship the intern will become well versed in small satellite subsystem technologies, commercial vendors, launch providers, supply chain, costs, project and program reviews, and the NASA project solicitation process. The intern will develop a small satellite costing model web application which will be beneficial to mission principal investigators and program managers to assist them with developing costing parameters for mission proposals. The web application development will include modules that focus on each aspect of the small satellite which includes the spacecraft bus, subsystems, instruments, launch, ground segment, and operational capabilities.
