Lead Roto Paint Artist

Reporting to the Roto/Paint Supervisor, the Roto/Paint Lead supports and partners with compositing Supervisors and leads to integrate seamlessly all elements of a shot to the highest level of VFX realism for major feature films.

Key Responsibilities

- Bidding on a Roto and Paint tasks. Able to provide estimates for workflow schedules. Delivers high quality of work under tight deadlines.
- QC’s internal and external resource work to a high standard using RV (or similar)
- Proactively troubleshoots and solves problems: work independently and provide guidance for team members.
- Attends production meetings. Provide feedback and partners with composting supervisors to complete tasks.
- Familiar with AI workflow and how to work efficiently
- Trains, mentors and supports leadership staff.

Qualifications

- Degree/Diploma in Digital Media Arts (preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience working in major live action feature films
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge/experience with Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha (required) Maya experience (preferred)
- Ability to receive and implement feedback quickly and effectively; takes direction well
- Strong written and oral communication skills; a team player; and strong time management skills
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision; strong trouble shooting/problem solving ability; and escalates issues as needed
- Knowledge of photography/traditional art background a plus
