The Art Dept Supervisor will support the Director of the Art Dept in implementing the creative vision for Eyeline’s content creation, with a focus on aspects aligned with traditional filmmaking, such as lighting, composition, pacing, and storytelling.

As part of Eyeline’s Art Department, this position will assist in the team's collaboration with creative partners from the earliest stages of projects to develop generative content. The ideal candidate will utilize their creative production and technical skills to assist the Director of the Art Dept in executing daily content creation processes, ensuring that creative ideas are transformed into awe-inspiring, cinematic visual content under the Director of the Art Dept’s guidance. This individual excels in problem-solving and collaboratively building solutions within complex, fast-paced workflows.

Key Responsibilities

The Art Department Supervisor collaborates closely with the Director of the Art Dept and may independently lead any of the following tasks and responsibilities, based on the Director of the Art Dept’s assessment of project needs:

Core Responsibilities:

- Primary client facing contact, working closely with the production manager to establish a collaborative relationship.
- Support the Director of the Art Dept in delivering projects aligned with the creative brief and project vision.
- Generate and contribute to the visualization for characters, environments, effects, and vehicles that bridge creative vision with technical VFX implementation
- Aid in project setup, including the configuration of applicable templates for tools like Miro and Shotgrid.
- Assist in project research and reference gathering.
- Contribute to the task breakdown and methodology definition, ensuring synchronization with the approved breakdown and team structure.
- Participate in the day-to-day review process.
- Assist with client presentations, adhering to the Director of the Art Dept’s guidelines.
- Assist the Director of the Art Dept in bridging with the workflow team to guide and inform on technical challenges on the project.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

- Creative Leadership: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a creative leadership capacity, such as a creative department supervisor or an assistant to a creative director or VFX supervisor, focused on delivering creative content.
- Generative AI Expertise: Extensive, hands-on experience utilizing generative AI platforms for producing images, text, videos, and developing related workflows.
- Proven production based experience as a Concept Artist or other closely related experience inside the creative digital industry (film, games, VFX etc.)
- Diverse portfolio showcasing your range of skills
- Expert knowledge of traditional art techniques including drawing, painting, proportion, anatomy, composition, and perspective
- Exceptional Photoshop skills (required)
- VFX and Cinematography Fundamentals: A strong grasp of cinematography principles, including lighting, composition, and camera work.
- A solid understanding of the traditional VFX pipeline, specifically in lighting and compositing.

- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate, build relationships, and inspire diverse teams effectively.
- Partnership Development: Proven capacity to forge deep, productive relationships with creative and production partners.
- Proactive and Results-Oriented: Self-motivated, proactive, and focused on achieving results.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Capable of instructing and sharing new methodologies and knowledge with team members.

Desirable (Bonus) Skills

- Experience with virtual production tools (e.g., Unreal Engine).
- Technical knowledge of diffusion models and tools (e.g., Comfy UI).
