About this role
Role Objective / Major Purpose of the Job
Directly manages daily shop-floor execution, operator allocation, and immediate batch manufacturing targets. Focus on maximizing machinery yield, minimizing material wastage during compression and coating, and enforcing room-level cGMP guidelines.
Principal Tasks & Responsibilities
1. Daily Production Planning: Create and execute daily shift schedules to meet immediate tablet and capsule production targets.
2. Shift Execution: Supervise daily shift operations to meet manufacturing targets for granulation, compression, and coating sections.
3. Process Monitoring: Oversee machine parameters during blending, tableting, and film coating to ensure product consistency.
4. cGMP Compliance: Enforce strict Good Manufacturing Practices and room-level hygiene protocols on the shop floor.
5. Line Clearance: Conduct and verify rigorous line clearance procedures before starting any new batch or product changeover.
6. BMR Documentation: Fill out and review Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) online to ensure accurate, error-free documentation.
7. Wastage Reduction: Monitor yield limits closely to minimize material rejection and powder loss during processing.
8. Manpower Handling: Allocate operators and helpers to specific machines based on skills and daily production schedules.
9. Machine Troubleshooting: Coordinate with the engineering team for routine maintenance, calibration, and quick equipment fixes.
10. Safety Enforcement: Ensure all operators wear mandatory PPE and strictly follow shop-floor safety protocols.
11. zero-injury safety protocols.
12. Manage shift schedules, allocate manpower, and evaluate operator performances.
13. Skill Development: Conduct regular technical and cGMP training sessions for the team.
Key Skills & Competencies
Functional / Technical:
Must possess deep technical mastery of cGMP standards and dosage manufacturing equipment to execute daily batch schedules efficiently. They require strong operational acumen to optimize machine utilization (OEE), minimize material yield loss, and maintain constant audit readiness. Their success hinges on strong shift-manpower management and seamless cross-functional coordination with QA, engineering, and warehouse teams
Behavioural:
Assertive communication and situational leadership to manage diverse shift workers and enforce rigid compliance discipline. Ultimately, they must drive a deep sense of daily quality ownership and accountability across the facility floors
