About this role
Job Title: Embedded Software Test Engineer Job Description This role focuses on developing, executing, and automating test strategies for embedded software systems to ensure functional accuracy, requirement compliance, and long-term reliability. You will validate software functionality on real hardware, support formal verification activities, and contribute to continuous integration processes, while collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality, production-ready embedded products. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and automated test scripts for embedded software systems.
- Review and interpret system and software requirements, ensuring full traceability and compliance with specifications.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks using C, C++, Python, C#, and other scripting or programming languages.
- Perform integration and verification testing on embedded hardware and software components to validate system behavior.
- Use instrument control tools such as single-board computers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power supplies to support hardware and software validation.
- Collaborate closely with software and hardware engineers to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve defects and system issues.
- Maintain detailed test documentation, including test cases, test results, defect logs, and compliance reports.
- Support continuous integration pipelines by integrating automated build and test processes into CI environments.
- Conduct formal verification activities and provide clear, traceable evidence for requirement compliance.
- Present test results, findings, and recommendations to internal engineering teams and external stakeholders as needed.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of automated test environments that support product development from design through manufacturing.
Essential Skills
- Strong background in product-based software testing (c/c++), with a focus on embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience using C, Python, C#, or similar languages to develop automated tests and scripts.
- Experience with requirements analysis, traceability, and verification for embedded software.
- Familiarity with embedded hardware concepts, including microcontrollers and real-time systems.
- Ability to design, build, and maintain automated test environments for embedded platforms.
- Experience with software testing and test automation in a professional engineering environment.
- Ability to work effectively with instrument control equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and single-board computers.

- Experience working in Linux environments and using shell scripting for automation.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD qualification testing and related standards.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and Electronic Stress Screening.
- Understanding of bare-metal programming concepts and workflows.
- Interest in seeing products through the full lifecycle from design to manufacturing.
- Appreciation for working in a stable organization with a track record of receiving industry awards.
Work Environment This position is currently 100% onsite due to the nature of the work and the sensitivity of the equipment involved. The primary work setting is a cubicle-based office environment with manufacturing facilities located nearby in the same building, enabling close collaboration with production and test teams. You will work hands-on with embedded hardware, test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and automated test setups integrated into continuous integration pipelines. The team culture supports a balance of social and family-oriented lifestyles; some colleagues regularly enjoy happy hours and social activities together after work, while others prioritize family time, and both approaches are welcomed and respected.
