What you'll do

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Applied Chiller business. In this highly visible position, you'll lead requirements and delivery for a development team responsible for our cloud-based equipment selection platforms, strategic solutions backed by multi-million-dollar investments that drive competitive advantage across the organization. You'll serve as the bridge between business and technology, transforming complex needs into actionable work, owning the product backlog, and influencing a cross-functional team of developers, QA professionals, architects, and technical leaders to deliver exceptional outcomes.

This position is based onsite at our Advanced Development & Engineering Center of Excellence in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.

How you'll do it

- Facilitate backlog refinement and take part in PI planning, system demos and the team's Kanban cadences.

- Confer with product management, engineering, sales and field users to understand current procedures, problems, data inputs and outputs, and reporting needs.

- Write use cases, workflow diagrams and data models that specify what the system will automate and what users will do.

- Review system capabilities and constraints to judge whether a requested change is feasible, and work with architects and tech leads to weigh solution options.

- Validate delivered work against acceptance criteria and demo it to stakeholders.

- Plan and coordinate dependencies with other teams, including Scrum teams, and external resources.

- Provide 2nd-level support for equipment selection tools: triage field issues and drive them to resolution.

- Keep work visible and transparent through status, risks and delivery metrics.

- Use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to work faster, communicate more clearly, and keep the team's work transparent.

- Collaborate with other analysts and help improve backlog standards and team processes.
