About this role

About the Job

The Secure Data Room Service (SDR) is a globally operated SaaS-based platform. The service is operated by providing highly secure virtual Data Rooms for Allianz Group entities worldwide. SDR enables confidential document exchange and collaboration for sensitive business processes. The service operates under strict regulatory requirements (BaFin/VAIT, DORA, BSI C5, GDPR) and serves VIP customer groups across the Allianz organization.

As Product Owner for SDR, you are the single point of accountability for the Service throughout its entire lifecycle. Unlike a standard agile Product Owner, your role combines Technical Service Management, Stakeholder Management, and Service Design & Lifecycle Governance into one comprehensive position.

You will be responsible for the full operational, technical, compliance, and strategic management of the SDR service, working closely with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and customers across Allianz Group.

What you do

Service Operations & Customer Management

- Manage day-to-day operations including customer support, ServiceNow order processing, Data Room setup and decommissioning. Serve as the primary interface to the external supplier, maintaining a deep and continuous supplier relationship. Prioritize and manage the product backlog following agile methodologies to maximize customer value. Deliver web trainings and create user documentation for Data Room Managers across Allianz entities.
- Maintain the Service Portfolio Management process, service descriptions, and regular reporting (user reports, license compliance, login reports to GIAM). Support the commercial Service Manager in among others, service planning, pricing, and procurement activities including competitive assessments and requests for proposals.

Risk Management, & Compliance & Data Privacy

- Conduct and manage annual Allianz Risk Shield (ARS) assessments including control effectiveness attestation; Ensure BaFin/VAIT compliance including anomaly detection, PIM maintenance, penetration test documentation, and Backup/Restore test certificates.
- Manage annual Data Privacy Risk Assessments (DPRA) in coordination with the Data Protection teams; Handle customer security assessments, maintain BSI C5 compliance documentation of the supplier, and support Fit-Gap assessments at Allianz entity level.

Architecture & Security Concepts

- Maintain DORA-compliant encryption and key management documentation and architecture modelling. Implement and govern security policies including password policies, session management, and security categories;
- Configure Data Room templates, permission concepts and user-group access concepts. Drive strategic initiatives such as SAML authentication and E2E monitoring

Strategic & Cross-Functional Responsibilities

- Provide VIP customer support, collaborate with other Product Owners on global rollout roadmap and backlog prioritization.
- Act as the primary face to the customer with responsibility and professional communication and demand management. Drive continuous improvement of processes and service capabilities. Conduct service promotion activities and strategic supplier alignment.

What you bring

- University degree in Computer Science, Information Security, IT Service Management, or a comparable field. Certified as Product Owner (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) or equivalent certification; ITIL certification is a strong advantage.
- 5 years of relevant work experience in IT Service Management, Product Ownership, or Technical Service Management. Experience managing SaaS-based services in a regulated enterprise environment.
- Experience with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., BaFin/VAIT, DORA, BSI C5, ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2). Experience in supplier/vendor management with external technology providers. Track record of managing services handling highly sensitive and confidential data.
- Understanding of security principles and best practices, particularly in the areas of encryption, key management, and access control. Familiarity with IT architecture documentation and modelling approach (e.g., ADOIT)
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and service portfolio management processes. Knowledge of identity and access management concepts (SAML, SSO, user-group models)
- Exceptional communication skills. English in speaking and writing (mandatory), with German language skills being a plus. Ability to explain complex technical and compliance topics to both management and technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills and structured, out-of-the-box thinking. Highly proactive and self-organized, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently. Customer-oriented mindset with proven experience supporting demanding and VIP user groups.
