Responsibilities We are looking for a technically experienced, hands-on Software Engineer in building the next generation document understanding service. Key responsibilities include: <ul><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Design, develop, and improve scalable components and capabilities for Azure Document Intelligence and Content Understanding services, with a focus on quality, reliability, performance, compliance and maintainability.</li><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Build and enhance testing, evaluation, automation, and telemetry to measure product quality, identify regressions, and continuously improve service performance.</li><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Effectively leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate engineering productivity, while applying technical judgment to validate AI-generated output and maintaining full ownership of delivered solutions.</li><li>Collaborate across engineering and product teams to design and deliver innovative, customer-focused solutions.</li></ul> Qualifications Qualification <ul><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience. </li><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">2+ years of software engineering experience designing, developing, testing, and operating production software systems.</li><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Demonstrated backend development skills, with experience in one or more of the following: Azure or other cloud platforms, C#/Python/C++, REST APIs, SQL, CI/CD, DevOps, containers, and distributed services.</li><li style="line-height: 107%; font-size: 11.0pt; font-family: Calibri, sans-serif;">Equipped with problem-solving, coding, debugging, and system design skills, with a demonstrated focus on quality, performance, reliability, and engineering excellence</li><li>Ability to effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, while applying sound engineering judgment to review, test, and validate AI-generated outputs and maintaining accountability for delivered solutions.</li></ul> This position will be open for a minimum of 5 days, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. <hr> Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer.
