You will provide technical support to the production units to provide a safe and efficient manufacturing environment is maintained. You will oversee the engineering, design and implementation of projects to improve safety and quality, and reduce product variation. Work to deliver continuous improvements, increased efficiency in all manufacturing processes and services on site.

Key Responsibilities

•             Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision, to complete job related tasks and projects in a safe, compliant and efficient manner.

•             Maintain all process systems in a manner that meets organisation standards, statutory and compliance requirements, and minimises equipment downtime.

•             Design, installation and maintenance of all electrical and mechanical equipment and facilities and ensures compliance with statutory requirements.

•             Support new product, equipment installations and modifications, including commissioning, qualification and validation.

•             Work directly with vendors to obtain/specify equipment.

•             Work with procurement in selection and management of suppliers, ensuring best quality and cost.

•             Provide training to employees including; production operators, technicians, and supervisors in the use, adjustments, upkeep and troubleshooting of processes and technologies.

•             Troubleshoot process, plant and equipment issues.

•             Attain in-depth knowledge of the plant equipment, unit operations and utility systems to enhance its performance as part of project specific projects.

•             Ensure all waste is disposed of observing licencing requirements, including proper segregation and storage of waste.

•             Manage on-site contractors, and ensures compliance with site procedures. Issue and oversee appropriate work permits and controls are in place.

•             Advocate of highest safety and quality compliance on site, identifies any such issues. Participate in site safety initiatives and planning.

•             Ensures work and ancillary areas, plant and equipment are clean and maintained to the highest standards.

Qualifications

•             Engineering Degree (Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical) or equivalent with 5 years' experience.

•             Engineering experience, in-depth knowledge of mechanical, industrial and facilities technologies and equipment.

•             Knowledge of automation systems would be a distinct advantage e.g. SCADA, HMI, DeltaV, Siemens.
