About the Role

At DCC Energy GB, we're embarking on an exciting period of transformation as we evolve our technology landscape and drive greater value through digital innovation.
We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused IT Director – Enterprise Applications to lead the strategy, development and optimisation of our enterprise applications portfolio, including Codas, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions.
Reporting to the IT Director, DCC Energy GB, this is a high-profile leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering our ERP and enterprise applications strategy. You will play a critical role in driving business transformation, improving operational efficiency, enhancing data integrity and ensuring our technology investments deliver measurable commercial value across our business.
This is a unique opportunity for a strategic technology leader who can combine deep ERP expertise with exceptional stakeholder management, commercial acumen and transformational leadership.

What You'll Be Doing

Strategic Leadership

- Define and execute a 3-5 year Enterprise Applications strategy aligned to DCC Energy GB business objectives.

- Act as a key technology leader, helping shape and influence the wider IT and business strategy.

- Champion the transition towards DCC's Six-Pillar IT Operating Model and support the successful establishment of the Enterprise Applications function.

- Serve as the voice of Enterprise Applications within senior leadership teams, demonstrating how technology can solve business challenges and create competitive advantage.

Business Partnership

- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure technology roadmaps align with strategic objectives.

- Translate business needs into scalable technology solutions and prioritised investment plans.

- Support mergers, acquisitions and business integration activities through technology due diligence and onboarding programmes.

- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to identify opportunities for process simplification, automation and digital transformation.

Enterprise Applications & Digital Transformation

- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise applications, including ERP platforms, automation technologies and supporting business systems.

- Drive adoption of modern ERP technologies, cloud-based solutions, platform services and emerging AI capabilities.

- Ensure enterprise applications remain secure, reliable, scalable and fit for future business requirements.

- Establish governance frameworks that support effective change management and risk mitigation.

Commercial & Financial Management

- Take full accountability for Enterprise Applications expenditure and investment planning.

- Develop robust business cases, clearly demonstrating ROI and total cost of ownership.

- Build and manage strategic relationships with key software vendors and technology partners.

- Drive cost optimisation and value creation through operating model improvements and shared service opportunities.

- Develop reporting mechanisms that measure business benefits and project outcomes.

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams across Enterprise Applications, including Codas, D365 and RPA functions.

- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

- Support colleagues through change with clarity, empathy and resilience.

- Develop future talent and succession capability within the team.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

- Significant senior leadership experience within Enterprise Applications, ERP or Business Systems environments.

- Proven track record of defining and delivering complex technology strategies and transformation programmes.

- Strong experience leading ERP platforms, enterprise applications and large-scale digital initiatives.

- Demonstrable success managing technology budgets and delivering measurable business value.

- Experience influencing and partnering with executive and senior leadership teams.

- Strong vendor management and commercial negotiation experience.

- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technology teams through significant organisational change.
