Four Oaks is looking for a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated In-Home Youth Counselor to join our team serving Des Moines County and northern Lee County!

As an In-Home Youth Counselor, you'll work directly with youth involved with Juvenile Court Services (JCS) who are transitioning back into their communities from residential treatment or the State Training School, or who may be at risk of entering these placements.

You'll play an important role in helping youth develop positive behaviors, strengthen decision-making skills, and build healthier relationships while providing guidance and support to their families.

At Four Oaks, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, and sometimes all it takes is someone who believes in their potential!

- Meet Youth Where They Are: Work directly with youth and families in their homes and communities, building trusting relationships and providing consistent encouragement.

- Create a Plan for Success: Collaborate with youth, families, referral sources, and placement agencies to develop and implement individualized Situational Plans and Family Support Plans.

- Be a Positive Role Model: Help youth develop accountability, responsibility, problem-solving skills, and healthier decision-making habits.

- Turn Challenges into Opportunities: Use everyday situations to teach positive behaviors, emotional regulation, and effective coping strategies.

- Promote Accountability: Help youth understand and follow the expectations of their supervision or probation agreements while encouraging personal growth.

- Support Behavioral Growth: Utilize Thinking Errors and Anger Controls models to help youth recognize behavior patterns, manage emotions, and make positive choices.

- Strengthen Family Relationships: Provide mentoring, guidance, and ongoing communication to help families support their youth's progress.

- Stay Connected: Maintain regular telephone and face-to-face contact with youth and families to monitor progress, address concerns, and celebrate successes.

- Work Together for Better Outcomes: Collaborate with Juvenile Court Services, schools, community partners, and referring professionals to coordinate services and support.

- Monitor Progress: Assess youth behavior, identify risk factors and strengths, and adjust interventions based on individual needs and team feedback.

- Communicate with Purpose: Provide timely updates, written reports, and testimony when required regarding youth progress, behavior, and supervision.
