About this role
We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced regulatory compliance leader to establish and lead our HESQ Regulatory Compliance Centre of Excellence. Reporting to the VP Product Stewardship and Compliance, you will build a consistent global framework that helps the organization anticipate regulatory change, manage risk and translate complex requirements into practical action. This is a highly visible role with significant influence across functions, operations and geographies.
What you will do
• Lead, develop and continuously improve the global HESQ regulatory compliance framework, governance and ways of working.
• Build an end-to-end compliance process covering regulatory monitoring, applicability assessment, implementation, verification, reporting and follow-up.
• Interpret legislation, regulations and standards, assess their business impact, and turn them into clear requirements, procedures, controls and actions.
• Advise senior leaders, operational teams and business functions on regulatory requirements, emerging developments and associated risks.
Your Key Accountabilities
• Direct regulatory assessments, compliance reviews, gap analyses, audits, inspections and regulatory reviews, ensuring findings and actions are closed effectively.
• Identify and escalate significant risks, compliance gaps, non-compliance and emerging issues, with clear management information and performance indicators.
• Coordinate regulatory documentation, submissions, permits, registrations, notifications, reports and records.
• Manage relationships with regulatory authorities, industry bodies, suppliers and other external stakeholders where delegated.
• Build effective regulatory information and knowledge-management processes, including training, guidance and awareness activities.
• Partner across Product Compliance, Quality, HESQ, Sales and Marketing, Production, Legal, Procurement, Supply Chain and other relevant areas.
• Lead and develop the Regulatory Expert team by setting priorities, allocating resources, strengthening capability and promoting consistent practices and knowledge sharing.
What you bring
• A master’s degree in engineering, regulatory affairs, law, materials science, quality management or a related discipline; extensive relevant professional experience may compensate for formal education.
• Strong, proven experience in regulatory compliance and a deep understanding of how organizations adapt to regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in problem-solving and project management.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the confidence to advise and build awareness at all organizational levels.
• A collaborative leadership style and the ability to work effectively across teams, disciplines, cultures and stakeholder groups.
