Copleston High School are seeking to appoint a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our team.

Are you passionate about working with young people and helping them achieve their potential?

This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role in supporting teaching and learning by ensuring students continue to learn effectively when teachers are absent.

Most of our cover provision is delivered through a centralised model, with students working in supervised study environments rather than being dispersed across multiple classrooms. This allows cover supervisors to work alongside members of the senior leadership team and other colleagues to maintain a calm, purposeful and productive learning environment while supporting students' independent learning.

The Role

You will:

- supervise students undertaking work set by their teachers
- support the effective operation of large-scale supervised study sessions and classroom-based cover where required
- promote positive behaviour, engagement and independent learning
- work collaboratively with senior leaders, teaching staff and pastoral teams
- maintain high expectations and contribute to a positive school culture
- support the welfare and safeguarding of students.

We are looking for someone who:

- has experience of working with young people, ideally within a school or learning environment
- can build positive relationships whilst maintaining high standards and expectations
- is confident, resilient and organised
- has strong communication and interpersonal skills
- can work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team
- is committed to supporting the success and wellbeing of all students.
