Marketplace Success Internship

Temper is growing fast in the UK, and we’re looking for an intern to help us grow even faster. Temper is a fast-scaling marketplace in the UK and the Netherlands, connecting companies that need extra hands for shifts with flexible professionals who want to work for them. You will find workers for our platform (FreeFlexers) wherever we need them most, whether that’s a new location or a new type of job for our clients. Temper makes its money from both sides of the business; clients and the workers, you will own the FreeFlexer side of the business and directly impact Temper’s revenue from day one. This internship is designed as a stepping stone to a permanent role for exceptional performers.

🧩 The challenge

- Work with our account managers and sales team to find out which shifts our clients need filled in each new location. We operate in hospitality, logistics and retail, so you’ll be finding a wide range of FreeFlexers: bartenders, waiters, event crew, chefs, drivers, retail assistants and more.

- Follow our proven playbook to find and onboard FreeFlexers in new locations across the UK.

- Be the first friendly voice our applicants hear from Temper. Reach out by phone, email and other channels, help them set up their Temper profile and get them excited for their first shift.

- When the usual approach doesn’t work, quickly put together a plan to reach FreeFlexers using a mix of online and offline channels. Test new ideas, whether that’s local partnerships with schools and colleges, community events or something we haven’t tried yet, and see what works.

- Run our ambassador programme and motivate existing FreeFlexers to refer their friends.

- Find creative ways to keep new FreeFlexers engaged and coming back for shifts, through events, perks, CRM tools and other channels.

🤝 Your Temper team

You’ll join our UK Marketplace Success team and help drive Temper’s growth in new UK locations. You’ll also work with our Marketplace Success team in the Netherlands to exchange ideas and learn from what’s worked there. Day to day, you’ll work closely with the wider UK team, including account managers and sales reps, to make sure we’re finding the right FreeFlexers for our clients. You’ll be in touch with almost everyone in the business, which makes this a great role for seeing how Temper works from every angle.

The role is hybrid, with a minimum two days in the office each week; the rest of the time, you can work wherever you like. We work hard and win hard. You’ll have the freedom to test your own ideas and take ownership of your work, backed by a team that celebrates success and moves quickly together.

💪 What makes you a great fit:

- You’re confident and comfortable on the phone, and happy to make plenty of calls in a day.

- You’re organised and persistent, and can follow a process and work through a list without losing momentum.

- You love solving problems and enjoy coming up with fresh ideas when the standard approach isn’t working.

- You’re data-driven. You use data and AI tools to spot issues, solve them and present innovative solutions, and you’ll have access to Claude to help you do it.

- You have a strong drive to succeed and can show where you’ve gone the extra mile, whether in work, sport, education or elsewhere.

- You’re happy to roll up your sleeves and do whatever needs doing, even beyond your core responsibilities.

- You’re available to start in early November, 4-5 days a week, and are based in London or able to travel regularly.

- Experience in a phone-based role, such as sales, recruitment or customer service.

- Experience in promotions or marketing.

- Are comfortable using Looker and Claude

- Experience or knowledge of software such as Asana and Salesforce
