Job Description

At Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), email is an important channel for connecting our teams and brands with millions of fans.

Reporting to the Manager, Lifecycle & Performance Marketing, the Email Marketing & Campaigns Coordinator will support the day-to-day management and execution of MLSE's email marketing program.

Working across multiple teams, brands and stakeholders, this role will help manage the email content calendar, coordinate campaign development and approvals, and ensure campaigns are delivered on time and in line with email marketing best practices. You'll act as a key point of contact between internal stakeholders and our email agency, helping turn business requests into effective fan communications. This role requires someone who is highly organized, comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines, and confident guiding stakeholders through established processes and timelines.

We're looking for someone who doesn't just focus on getting an email out the door, but thinks critically about the audience, message, timing and overall fan experience.

What You'll Be doing

- Manage the day-to-day intake and coordination of email marketing campaigns across MLSE teams and stakeholders.
- Own and maintain the email marketing content calendar, ensuring visibility into upcoming campaigns, audience overlap, frequency and key dates.
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for internal stakeholders and our email agency throughout campaign development and deployment.
- Manage campaigns from brief through deployment, including timelines, copy and creative collection, audience requirements, testing, approvals and final sign-off.
- Proactively follow up with stakeholders to ensure briefs, assets and approvals are received according to established timelines.
- Lead recurring email planning and campaign meetings, documenting decisions, next steps and outstanding actions.
- Review campaign briefs, copy and creative to ensure alignment with brand standards and email marketing best practices.
- Provide copywriting and editing support, including subject lines, preheaders, headlines, calls-to-action and email body copy.
- Help stakeholders make informed decisions around email timing, frequency, audience and content.
- Identify conflicting priorities, compressed timelines or process gaps and confidently push back or escalate when requests do not meet established requirements or best practices.
- Partner with internal teams to support audience segmentation and targeting and ensure campaigns reach the appropriate audiences.
- Coordinate campaign testing and approvals and conduct thorough quality assurance prior to deployment.
- Review campaign performance and help identify opportunities to improve engagement and overall email effectiveness.
- Support the development and evolution of email templates, processes, documentation and best practices.
- Understand and help uphold applicable CASL, PIPEDA and anti-spam requirements across email communications.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and make the email operating model more efficient and scalable.

What You'll Bring

- 1-3 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, CRM, campaign management, marketing operations or project management.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent written communication skills; copywriting or content marketing experience is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of email marketing fundamentals, including subject lines, CTAs, mobile-first design, audience segmentation, testing and campaign performance.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence reviewing copy, creative, links, audiences and campaign setup.
- Comfortable communicating with stakeholders across an organization and confident setting expectations, enforcing timelines and constructively pushing back when necessary.
- A proactive mindset - you anticipate what needs to happen next rather than waiting for direction.
- Comfortable facilitating meetings and keeping groups focused on decisions and next steps.
- Curious and data-minded, with an interest in using campaign performance to improve future communications.
- Experience with CRM or email marketing platforms; Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience is an asset.
- Experience with project management tools such as Asana, Trello or Airtable is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to work flexible hours when required.
