### About the role
You’re the Head of Studio’s operating partner. They work with the Chief Creative Officer to set the creative direction, decide what goes on the slate, and build the partnerships behind it. You turn that into shows that ship.
Each show is run by its own Producer, with a Showrunner leading the creative team. You manage the Producers, and through them every show we make. You resource each production, own budgets and schedules across the slate, and decide how crews and time are shared between shows. You spot problems before they become delays, step in when a production needs support, and keep every show on track from greenlight to release.
You also build the studio’s operating system: how a show gets greenlit, budgeted, staffed, and delivered, and how lessons from one show make the next one better. Beyond the Head of Studio, you work with the Director, Audience Growth on how shows perform, and with creators and production partners on getting the work made.
What you'll do
Shows
- Own every production on the slate, from greenlight to release
- Hold each show to its budget, schedule, and quality bar, and protect all three when they pull against each other
- Catch risks early, before they become delays or overruns
- Step in when a production hits trouble, and make the call on trade-offs
- Run slate reviews with the Head of Studio on what’s working, what isn’t, and what changes next
Producers and crews
- Hire, manage, and grow our bench of freelance Producers, the people who run each show
- Staff each show with its Showrunner, drawing from a shared pool of creative and production talent
- Decide how crews, budgets, and time are shared when shows compete for them
- Manage contractors, vendors, and production partners
Studio operations
- Own studio budgets and reporting across the slate
- Build and run the greenlight process, production workflows, and templates every show uses
- Partner with the Studio Director, who keeps schedules, trackers, and status reporting current across the slate
- Own delivery, clearances, talent releases, and production insurance
- Run a post-mortem after every release, so each show makes the next one better
- Work with the Director, Audience Growth to bring performance data into planning
- Bring new production tools into how shows get made, where they actually save time or raise quality
- Help Creators in Residence and outside talent get their work made
Launch and growth
- Approve casting on every show, with the Showrunner and Producer
- Make sure every show has a launch plan, built with the Chief Marketing Officer, and that production delivers the assets it needs, budgeted from the start
- Sign off on each show’s branding and promotion with the Head of Studio and Chief Creative Officer
- Lead performance reviews with the Director, Audience Growth, and decide what changes when a show isn’t landing
What you bring
- 8+ years in production or production management for video, including overseeing several productions at once
- A record of running multiple shows or series at the same time, on time and on budget
- Experience hiring and managing producers, line producers, or production managers
- Experience building and managing a bench of freelance producers and crew
- Strong command of production budgets, schedules, contracts, and vendors
- Experience building production workflows and the systems that support them
- Fluency in how short- and long-form video gets made for social platforms
- Calm, clear judgment when productions collide or plans change
- Experience working as the operating partner to a creative leader
- Experience in an early-stage or fast-moving studio, network, or digital media company
Who you are
- You love making things run, and you take quiet pride when nothing breaks
- You make Producers better at their jobs, and the whole studio better at making shows.
- You bring bad news while there’s still time to fix it
- You’re restlessly curious about new tools and technology, with the judgment to separate what matters from what’s merely new
- You’re tapped into culture, with real taste and a good radar for what’s next, from formats and platforms to the creators people are about to care about
- You protect the creative work
- You’re energized by building a studio from the ground up, for audiences most media ignores
