Strategic Business Partner

Lloyd’s Register

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a Strategic Business Partner to lead Lloyd's Register's relationship with assigned Strategic Key Accounts, protecting existing business while creating sustainable and profitable growth. You will develop tailored account strategies grounded in a deep understanding of each client's business, priorities, market and competitive environment.

Acting as the Voice of the Customer within LR, you will align colleagues across our functions around the outcomes that matter most to the client. You will bring together cross-functional account teams, turn client needs into compelling solutions and value propositions, and help deliver a consistent, high-quality customer experience.

This is a senior, externally focused role for someone who can operate credibly at C-suite and operational levels, connect long-term strategic ambition with disciplined execution, and build trusted-adviser relationships that create lasting value for both the client and LR.

What we offer you

- The opportunity to work for an organization that has a strong sense of purpose, is values driven and helps colleagues to develop professionally and personally through our range of people development programmes

- Full-time permanent position

The role

- Develop and lead a One-LR strategy for assigned Strategic Key Accounts, based on a deep understanding of the client's business, strategy, market and competitive landscape.

- Build, maintain and communicate a Strategic Key Account plan, including a three-to-five-year vision, short- and medium-term objectives, clear accountabilities, KPIs and measures of success.

- Lead a dynamic, cross-functional Strategic Account Team, bringing together the capabilities required to deliver the account strategy and respond to changing client needs.

- Act as the Voice of the Customer within LR, translating explicit and emerging client needs into coordinated priorities, solutions and an exceptional customer experience.

- Identify, shape and lead cross-stream growth opportunities, creating bundled solutions and compelling business and financial value propositions that position LR to win.

- Develop commercial strategies that balance client value, retention, increased penetration, profitability and cost to serve, delivering sustainable win-win outcomes.

- Partner closely with the Executive Sponsor and senior commercial leaders to align objectives, remove barriers, manage risk and maintain momentum against agreed priorities.

- Establish a deliberate relationship strategy across executive and operational levels, strengthening decision-maker and influencer engagement while reducing single points of dependency.

- Use effective negotiation and solution-selling approaches to resolve conflict, secure internal alignment and achieve positive outcomes for the client and LR.

- Monitor account performance, client engagement, market developments and competitor activity; maintain accurate records in SFL and use insight to adapt the account strategy and actions.

What you bring

- Demonstrable success leading major or strategic accounts, including developing account strategies and converting them into measurable client and commercial outcomes.

- Strong strategic and commercial judgement, with the ability to balance customer value, growth, profitability, risk and cost to serve.

- Credibility and confidence to engage, influence and build trusted relationships at C-suite, senior leadership and operational levels.

- A customer-focused mindset, with clear evidence of representing the Voice of the Customer and translating client needs into coordinated action.

- Experience creating business and financial value propositions and shaping solutions across multiple products, services or business areas.

- The ability to lead, motivate and coordinate cross-functional virtual teams without relying on direct authority.

- Strong analytical capability, including interpreting market, client and competitor insight and turning it into clear strategic priorities and actions.

- Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, internally and externally.

- The ability to assess complex or unfamiliar situations, make timely decisions and drive issues through to resolution.

- Personal accountability, initiative and adaptability, with the ability to prioritise effectively and work successfully in a multicultural environment.

You are someone who

- Is keen to take accountability and ownership for delivering customer needs

- Is able to self-manage and prioritize tasks towards achieving goals

- Is effective at solving problems, trouble-shooting and making timely decisions

- Is flexible and eager to take initiatives

- Communicates in a structured way and has ability to present technical ideas in user-friendly language

- Displays a team spirit, particularly in a multicultural environment

- Responds positively to learning opportunities and is comfortable stepping out of own comfort zone
