About this role

We Go Beyond:

At Bed Bath & Beyond , we believe that everyone should “Be You!”. Bed Bath & Beyond is a community that upholds a culture of understanding, acceptance, and respect. We believe a person’s individuality, traits, beliefs, and characteristics should be valued and embraced. Living by this ethos is essential to the success of our business. Our goal is to foster a more inclusive environment where every employee visibly demonstrates inclusive behaviors and respect for individuals.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Forecast & Outlook

• Own the monthly forecast and full-year outlook across all lines of business: establish the calendar, develop templates, understand and pressure test assumptions, and lead consolidation.

• Build a driver-based forecast that links channel, cost, and SG&A inputs to consolidated Revenue, EBITDA, and Cash Flow.

• Lead gap-closure and task-back exercises when the outlook falls short of plan, assigning owners and tracking delivery.

Close & Partnership with Control

• Partner with the Controller and Accounting team on the month-end close calendar, flash results, accruals, and reconciliation of management reporting to GAAP results.

• Establish clear handoffs, definitions, and controls between FP&A and Accounting so the business works from one version of the truth.

• Support quarterly reporting and investor-relations materials in partnership with Control, Legal, and the FP&A Lead.

Performance Management & Executive Communication

• Run a monthly business review cadence that ends in decisions, built on rigorous KPI and variance analysis.

• Prepare and present executive-ready materials for the CFO, CEO, and Executive Leadership Team, distilling complex results into a clear narrative and recommended actions.

• Proactively surface risks and opportunities to senior leaders before they show up in results.

Process Building & Leadership

• Design and document scalable forecast and close processes; automate where possible and reduce cycle time.

• Partner on planning-system and reporting-tool improvements.

• Lead and develop the Senior Forecast Analyst and coordinate forecast contributors across the Finance organization.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 10+ years of FP&A experience, including 3+ years owning a forecast and/or monthly close review process at the manager or director level.

• Proven track record of building finance processes from the ground up — calendars, templates, controls, and governance.

• Strong working knowledge of accounting and close mechanics (accruals, reserves, GAAP vs. management reporting) and a history of close partnership with Controllership.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication, with demonstrated experience presenting to and advising senior executives.

• Advanced financial modeling skills; experience with EPM / planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive, OneStream, Hyperion).

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred

• CPA, or a public accounting / controllership background combined with FP&A.

• Public company experience, including earnings preparation and guidance.

• Retail or consumer products experience.

• Experience in a transformation or high-change environment.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YEAR ONE

• A documented, on-time monthly forecast and close calendar adopted across Finance and Accounting.

• Measurable improvement in forecast accuracy and reduced close-to-review cycle time.

• A monthly business review that consistently ends in decisions and owned actions.

• Recognition by the CFO and executive team as the trusted source on where the business will land.
