About this role

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

You will join Content Promotion and Distribution, the team responsible for driving global content ingestion across Netflix. Our platform authenticates incoming submissions, orchestrates metadata, video, artwork, and availability across downstream services, and ensures partner deliverables are validated and conformed for seamless streaming to our members.

About the Team

Behind every title a member streams is a complex content supply chain. We focus on the front door to that supply chain. Content partners deliver metadata, artwork, and media to Netflix through it, and it validates and processes that content on its way to launch. As Netflix expands into new content types and deal structures, we make delivering to Netflix the easiest part of a partner's day.

Solutions Engineers accelerate partner integrations, help partners launch with confidence, and keep them running smoothly at scale. You'll sit between Engineering and the partner-facing Operations and Support teams. You'll work hands-on with partners, and you'll fix the friction you find so the next partner doesn't hit it.

This is one of the first Solutions Engineer roles for our team. You'll help define how the function works.

What You'll Do

- Evaluate prospective partners for technical fit, lead early deep dives, and establish clear integration roadmaps prior to onboarding.
- Guide partners through onboarding and content delivery, untangling schema mismatches or hierarchy errors, crafting lightweight custom solutions when standard tools fall short, and shipping targeted improvements to unblock launches.
- Develop targeted scripting, internal tools, and operational documentation to streamline remediation and enhance platform observability.
- Educate internal stakeholders and external teams on platform capabilities, while refining integration guides and scalable workflows.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point post-launch, tuning observability infrastructure and supporting partner-specific tools.
- Identify recurring friction points and ship small, high-leverage improvements that reduce manual steps and issues per launch, using light scripting and automation to resolve issues at scale and build custom solutions that reduce the need for bespoke engineering work.
- Bring well-evidenced defects and roadmap needs to core engineering with a clear ask, and represent partners' technical needs in product and engineering discussions, so new deals don't become bespoke one-offs.

What You'll Bring

- Hands-on experience integrating or supporting external partners on REST APIs. You're fluent with curl, Postman, or similar, and comfortable debugging JSON payloads and request/response flows.
- Strong, structured troubleshooting skills. You can reason through a workflow end-to-end, use logs, dashboards, and traces to isolate a fault, and escalate with evidence and a concrete next step.
- Working proficiency in Python or Java, and SQL. You can write scripts and queries, and read and debug an existing codebase well enough to make small, integration-specific changes.
- Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences. You can turn ambiguous partner requests into concrete technical plans and keep stakeholders informed during incidents.
- Comfort doing manual, human-in-the-loop work to unblock a partner. You recognize when a workaround is needed and tell engineers what to automate.
- Practical experience using AI tools to speed up troubleshooting, documentation, and support, with real examples of results.
- Curiosity, ownership, and empathy for partners. You care more about a partner's successful launch than about which tool got them there.
- Experience with workflow or pipeline systems, or with media or metadata ingestion, is a plus. Experience in media, entertainment, or streaming is a plus.
- Plus: Familiarity with digital image specs, media file formats and delivery workflows.

What We Offer

- Meaningful impact. The systems you support are foundational to how content reaches members around the world.
- Responsibility. Netflix offers true transparency and autonomy. Our culture is unique and is key to how we innovate.
- Stunning colleagues. You'll work with high-performing peers across engineering, product and operations who value collaboration.
