About this role
Description
As part of the AWS Applied AI Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon’s unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers’ businesses through delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon’s real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.
Amazon Web Services is seeking an experienced, Technical Training Specialist who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and brings a solid background working in technical environments and with technical customers. This role will act as a Global Learning Technical Training Specialist for the AWS Trust & Safety (T&S) organization and will support T&S’s transformation into a signals-intelligence organization where builders and AI agents work collaboratively. You will serve technical customers whose roles are rapidly transitioning to complex investigation work requiring AI copilot collaboration, automation oversight, cross-domain investigation, and customer engagement during incidents.
This is a technical individual-contributor role. You will develop and maintain genuine fluency in the systems your work covers - platform migrations, AI workflows, and proficiency-routing architectures - understand the design approaches and technologies used in your program area, spot risks, ask the right technical questions to ensure appropriate trade-offs are made, and simplify technical complexity. You will apply that technical judgment to design and build the training and enablement that equips technical customers to do complex work, translating system and architecture changes into clear, accurate, outcome-based learning.
Working with limited guidance, you will decide which actions to take to meet goals and design solutions for your area, partnering closely with engineering and technical teams, SMEs, and operations. You will author technical documentation, build hands-on and applied learning, measure effectiveness, and drive the adoption of AI-powered tools across the GL T&S learning lifecycle. You will apply sound program discipline - scoping, sequencing, stakeholder alignment, risk mitigation, and impact reporting - to deliver your solutions on time and to a high bar.
Key job responsibilities
1. Apply technical judgment - Develop fluency in the technical systems in your program area ; understand design approaches and technology trade-offs, spot risks in proposed solutions, and ask the right technical questions to ensure sound trade-offs are made.
2. Design and build technical training - Translate complex technical systems and architecture changes into structured, outcome-based learning for technical customers - learning paths, hands-on labs, applied exercises, and job aids that build real proficiency, not just awareness.
3. Author technical documentation - Produce and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation and content: SOPs, training architecture narratives, functional requirements, design specifications, and reference material, validated for technical accuracy with engineering and SMEs.
4. Serve as the technical liaison - Translate architecture and workflow changes into learning requirements, simplify technical complexity into deliverable solutions, and flag risks that impact scope, quality, or builder capacity.
5. Drive AI enablement - Champion adoption of AI-powered content-development tools, just-in-time delivery, and Agentic Skills frameworks to improve the efficiency, scale, and currency of technical enablement.
6. Leverage learning platforms and LMS - Deploy, track, and scale technical training through the learning management system (LMS) and learning platforms; analyze LMS data to validate learning metrics, surface gaps, and drive data-driven improvements, troubleshooting and documenting scalable solutions.
7. Measure impact and improve - Define success metrics, instrument your solutions, measure proficiency gains and adoption, and iterate based on data; optimize procedures and processes and mitigate immediate risks.
8. Ensure training compliance - Ensure technical training and certification/accreditation programs incorporate applicable compliance and regulatory requirements; monitor for changes, and escalate compliance risks with mitigation recommendations.
9. Own delivery with program discipline - Own the end-to-end delivery of the technical learning initiatives you lead: define requirements, establish milestones, prioritize intake, make trade-offs between time, quality, and resources, and clear blockers — escalating when appropriate.
10. Partner cross-functionally - Work with engineering and technical teams, SMEs, Workforce Management (WFM), Business and GL stakeholders to align technical enablement to business-critical timelines.
11. Communicate to leadership - Deliver clear status reporting, risk mitigation plans, and path-to-green documentation; participate in business reviews (e.g., WBR/MBR) and present decisions to leaders.
12. Contribute to the team - Contribute to team development, mentor where appropriate, and participate in the hiring process.
