- Do you enjoy understanding how businesses operate and identifying opportunities to strengthen risk management and controls?

- Are you someone who can independently lead audits, navigate complex issues and build credibility with senior management?

- Are you naturally curious, risk-aware and motivated to identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls and governance?

What is the Role:

The Group Internal Audit Function is an independent, third line of defence function with primary responsibility to the Group's Board of Directors through the Board Audit Committee. GIA assists the Board of Directors in carrying out its corporate governance responsibilities by providing an independent view on the key risks facing the Group, and on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system of governance, risk management and internal control in managing these risks.

The role is positioned within the Goodbody Team where we undertake reasonable and independent assurance on the management of the relevant key material risks and associated control environment, across the First and Second Lines of Defence. As part of a high-performing and ambitious audit function, the team plays a key role in supporting the organisation's strategic objectives through insightful, risk-focused assurance and constructive challenge.

GIA is seeking an ambitious and experienced professional with a strong audit or financial services background to support the delivery of a dynamic, risk-based audit plan. Working across a diverse range of business areas, the successful candidate will lead audits from planning through to reporting, including defining audit scope, developing testing strategies, executing fieldwork and delivering clear, impactful reporting to senior stakeholders. The role provides a unique opportunity to gain deep insight into the business, influence positive change and provide independent assurance over the effectiveness of governance, risk management and internal controls. In addition, the role will support the assessment and validation of management actions, helping to drive sustainable improvement across the organisation.

Key Accountabilities:

- Assist in the preparation of risk-based audit plan, programmes of work and reporting to support the delivery of assurance to the Board Audit Committee and other key stakeholders;

- Lead and manage audits from beginning to end including definition of audit scope, test strategy, execution of testing, summary of issues and final report;

- Manage the resolution of agreed issues and exceptions with the business areas and stakeholders within agreed timetables;

- Review and interpret processed data to identify trends and investigate exceptional items;

- Actively develop and maintain positive working relationships with management within the business to enhance the effectiveness and reputation of GIA;

- Organise, develop and motivate a team of staff as required on each audit; and

- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of GIA's audit methodology standards, processes and AIB organisational structure

What you Will Bring:

- A professional qualification (e.g. CIA, CMIIA, ACA, ACCA or CIMA) is desirable, but not essential.

- At least four years' experience in an audit, risk or financial services role.

- A strong understanding of banking and/or investment products and the associated risks and control environments.

- Knowledge of the financial services regulatory landscape, with MiFID experience considered an advantage but not required.

- Experience assessing and managing risk in a financial services setting, supported by a sound understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
