About this role

We’re Doctify

Doctify is the global platform built by doctors for doctors, on a mission to build the largest, most trusted global network of validated healthcare providers and experts. We connect patients with the right doctors, and doctors with respected peers, to ensure better care worldwide. Through verified patient reviews and professional skill endorsements, Doctify creates unmatched credibility for providers and empowers patients to choose care with confidence.

Founded in 2015 and backed by $30m+ in funding, Doctify operates across 7 countries. We are uniting the global healthcare community, one trusted connection at a time.

We do things differently here at Doctify, we are boldly leading a digital revolution in healthcare and are confident in our mission.

About The Role

The Senior SEO & GEO Optimisation Specialist is a hands-on, high-impact individual contributor role focused on how patients discover Doctify, whether they search on Google or ask an AI assistant. This dual-discipline role combines traditional Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) with Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO).

Patients increasingly begin their care journey with a question: “Who is the best knee surgeon near me?” or “Which dermatologist in Dubai has the best reviews?” You will help make sure Doctify’s specialist, clinic and hospital profiles, specialty and location pages, and health content are the trusted answer, both in classic search results (Google, Bing) and in Large Language Models and AI search experiences (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews).

Technical SEO is the foundation of this role. You will turn our organic strategy into delivered results, owning priority markets, page types and workstreams end to end. You will work day to day with Product, Engineering, Data, Content and Commercial teams to ship improvements and measure their impact.

You’ll be responsible for

Technical SEO

- Platform Health: Monitor and improve the technical health of a large, multi-market site with many practitioner, clinic and hospital profiles: rendering (JavaScript SEO), Core Web Vitals, crawl budget, indexation, faceted search and internal linking.
- Programmatic & Local SEO: Optimise templated specialty × location × treatment pages so they are useful, avoid thin or duplicate content, and win in local and map-pack results.
- Schema & Structured Data: Implement and maintain structured data (e.g. Physician, Medical Clinic, Hospital, Medical Specialty, Reviews) that connects practitioners, organisations, specialties and verified reviews, in line with search engine guidelines.
- Engineering Collaboration: Write clear SEO tickets and requirements, QA releases and migrations, and support new market launches with Product and Engineering.

Strategy Execution & Planning

- Dual-Engine Growth Delivery: Turn Doctify’s organic strategy into quarterly roadmaps and deliver projects that grow patient traffic, bookings and review volume across your assigned markets, balancing SEO and AI-search discoverability.
- Search Landscape Awareness: Track Google algorithm updates (especially YMYL, E-E-A-T and helpful-content changes) and developments in AI answer engines. Assess their impact on Doctify and recommend responses.
- Keyword & Intent Research: Research patient intent across specialties, conditions, treatments, procedures and locations. Build content-gap and “query fan-out” analyses that link these journeys to the right Doctify pages.
- International Support: Support organic launches in new and growing markets, including localised keyword research, hreflang implementation and multilingual QA (e.g. English, German, Arabic).

Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) & AI Discoverability

- AI Citation Growth: Run initiatives that increase how often, and how accurately, Doctify, our specialists and our verified review data are cited in AI-generated answers to healthcare questions.
- Trust-First Content Structuring: Work with Content and Client Success teams to structure profiles, review summaries and health content so AI models can ingest them accurately, with clear authorship, medical review and sourcing.
- Accuracy & Brand Safety: Monitor how AI engines describe Doctify and the providers on our platform. Flag outdated or wrong information and drive fixes, recognising the higher stakes of health-related answers.
- GEO Measurement: Run and maintain the tools that track share-of-voice, sentiment and citation frequency in AI search. Report trends against healthcare directories and competitors.

Workflows & Tooling

- SEO Automation: Build scripts and AI-assisted workflows for page-quality checks, metadata generation, profile completeness audits and content testing across tens of thousands of pages.
- Monitoring & Alerting: Set up and maintain dashboards and alerts that flag volatility in rankings, indexation and AI search visibility by market and specialty.
- Performance Reporting: Report organic performance against business outcomes such as patient sessions, bookings and review submissions, and share clear insights with the team and stakeholders.

Compliance & Trust

- Responsible Healthcare Marketing: Make sure SEO and GEO work respects healthcare advertising and data rules (e.g. ASA/CAP Code, GDPR/UK GDPR and equivalent rules in each market), and never compromises the integrity of verified reviews.
- E-E-A-T Best Practice: Apply clinical accuracy, transparent authorship and medical review standards so Doctify is seen as a trustworthy source of healthcare provider information.

Team Contribution

- Knowledge Sharing: Share SEO and GEO best practice with Content, Product and market teams, and support more junior colleagues where needed.

About you

- 5–7+ years of hands-on SEO or organic growth experience, ideally including time on large-scale, multi-market or marketplace websites (directories, marketplaces, booking or review platforms).
- 1+ year of hands-on experience with Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) or Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), or a demonstrable track record of testing and measuring AI-search visibility.
- Experience with YMYL content, ideally in healthcare, health-tech, pharma, finance or another regulated sector.
- Track record of delivering SEO projects end to end and clearly explaining results and recommendations to stakeholders.

Technical Skills

- SEO Platforms: Advanced use of Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, Ahrefs, Semrush and Screaming Frog; familiarity with log-file analysis; experience with Google Business Profile and local SEO.
- Languages & Data: Good working knowledge of HTML, CSS and how JavaScript frameworks affect SEO, plus SQL and analytics tools (e.g. GA4, BigQuery, Looker).
- AI Proficiency: Comfortable using LLM prompting and APIs to extract data and automate manual work; interest in tools such as Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
- International SEO: Working knowledge of hreflang, multi-country site architecture and localisation.

Core Competencies

- Collaboration & Influence: Able to build strong working relationships with Product, Engineering, Data, Content and market teams, and get SEO work prioritised.
- Hypothesis-Driven Experimentation: Able to design and run SEO and content tests and read the results rigorously, in a space where GEO still lacks standard analytics dashboards.
- Ownership & Delivery: Self-starter who manages a varied workload and takes projects from analysis to launch.
- Patient-First Mindset: Genuine care about helping patients make better healthcare decisions, and about the trust that patients and providers place in Doctify.

Nice to Have

- Experience in the UK private healthcare sector or with health-tech marketplaces.
- Familiarity with Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia) or DACH search markets, including Arabic or German-language SEO.
- Experience working with clinicians or medical reviewers on content.
- Experience with programmatic SEO on templated pages at scale.
