About this role
Mission
Neko is redefining what prevention means, from treating illness when it arrives, to sustaining health before it's ever at risk. Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear.
In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives.
Role Purpose
Every Neko clinic brings together members, advanced medical equipment, a clinical team and, before opening, an active construction site. The Global Health & Safety Lead ensures that all of this is safe and legally compliant in every country where we operate, and that safety is embedded in how we select, build, open and run our clinics.
This is a build role. With hundreds of new locations planned across global markets, you will establish the standards, checks and processes that make every opening safe and legally compliant, and build the global standards and operating systems that oversee day-to-day health and safety, adapted to each market’s legislation and needs.
You will own Neko’s day-to-day health and safety management so that our members and staff are in a safe environment, select and implement the systems to run it at scale, and put in place the training, audits and people needed to sustain high standards as we grow.
What You’ll Deliver in the First 6–12 Months
Clinic Openings
- A repeatable opening process, with the health and safety standards, checks and sign-offs every new clinic must pass before it opens, built to work across hundreds of locations in different markets.
- Map the health and safety legal requirements in each Neko market and establish global standards with local additions where required.
- Health and safety due diligence for every new site and new market, with a clear view of the residual market risks.
- Safety integrated into clinic design and construction, in partnership with the real estate and construction teams: contractor requirements and pre-qualification, site audits, and complete safety briefings at handover.
- Emergency and evacuation plans agreed with the Global Security Lead.
Risk Management and Infrastructure
- A global health and safety management system, adapted locally for each market, that oversees day-to-day safety across every clinic and office.
- Risk assessments for every clinic, office and build site, covering fire safety, first aid, manual handling and the use of medical equipment.
- Controls for clinic-specific hazards, including clinical waste and the safe operation of medical equipment, aligned with local regulation and quality management systems.
- A risk-based audit programme and a set of performance measures reported regularly to the COO.
Day to Day Operations
- Ownership of Neko’s day-to-day health and safety management, so our members and staff are in a safe environment in every clinic.
- Routine maintenance and compliance checks that control building risks including fire, water hygiene, electrical safety and lifts, in collaboration with Facilities.
- Robust reporting, investigation and corrective action processes for incidents and near misses, including statutory reporting to regulators.
- Induction and ongoing training for clinic teams, including fire wardens and first aiders who can lead effectively in an emergency.
