About this role
Manages, plans and coordinates all activities within a laboratory. Maintains quality and timeliness of all laboratory operations within budgetary guidelines.
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques , with an emphasis on protein expression and purification from a variety of recombinant sources is required . Experience with membrane protein expression and purification is preferred.
- Experience with sample preparation for structural biology techniques, including cryo-electron microscopy (single-particle analysis and/or tomography) and X-ray crystallography, is preferred but not required.
- Experience with laser operation, alignment, and safety is preferred but not required.
- Comfortable with the changes associated with evolving research requirements and the need to learn and troubleshoot new approaches to solve key problems.
- Knowledge of laboratory techniques.
- Experience documenting and following procedures/protocols.
- Knowledge of procedures, instruments in use, and quality control measures within the laboratory.
- Experience operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and conducting regular assessments to record the lab equipment's performance.
- Ability to operate in a fast paced environment with established time constraints.
- Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelors degree is required.
