Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Create and launch a new traveling gas turbine field-services organization responsible for onsite turbine assembly, disassembly, and open, clean, inspect, repair-support, and close activities during outage and non-outage periods. Define the organization’s mission, service offerings, implementation roadmap, performance expectations, and long-range growth strategy.

- Design the department’s organizational structure, leadership model, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, workforce plan, governance, decision rights, and interfaces with Engineering, plant operations, maintenance, project management, supply chain, and other stakeholders.

- Develop and execute a phased capability-building plan that includes recruiting, onboarding, technical training, qualification standards, career development, knowledge transfer, succession planning, tooling and equipment acquisition, facilities and logistics needs, and the transition from contractor-supported work to sustainable internal capability where appropriate.

- Establish the department’s operating management system, including policies, procedures, work controls, planning standards, technical governance, quality requirements, document control, performance dashboards, management routines, and continuous-improvement processes required for consistent field execution.

- Lead the planning and execution of planned and emergent gas turbine work by defining scopes, critical-path activities, outage durations, labor and resource requirements, tooling, materials, contractor support, site logistics, schedules, cost controls, risk-mitigation plans, and turnover requirements to improve productivity and minimize outage duration.

- Partner with Engineering and technical stakeholders to develop and validate technical instructions, inspection plans, repair recommendations, hold points, acceptance criteria, and standardized methods for casing removal and installation, component handling, cleaning, dimensional checks, bolting, alignment, clearances, preservation, documentation, and equipment return to service.

- Build and lead a qualified, high-performing workforce through effective selection, job assignments, coaching, training programs, personal development plans, qualification assessments, performance management, and leadership development while maintaining a positive, nondiscriminatory, and harassment-free work environment.

- Build safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory compliance into the organization’s culture and operating practices. Lead the System Safety Process, provide appropriate tools and protective equipment, establish and enforce safe work behaviors, set safety goals, investigate and report incidents, complete root-cause analyses and corrective actions, and ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and other applicable requirements.

- Develop business cases, annual and long-range business plans, operating and capital forecasts, internal-versus-contracted service strategies, vendor and original equipment manufacturer relationships, and customer engagement plans that support departmental, generation, and corporate objectives. Track and control expenditures within approved budgets.

- Establish and monitor measures for organizational readiness, workforce capability, safety, quality, schedule, cost, productivity, customer performance, and value creation. Communicate progress, risks, resource needs, and corrective actions to management; adjust the implementation plan as the organization matures; and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
