About this role
As an Equipment Procurement Transaction Lead on Intersect's Procurement team, you'll take complete ownership of high-value equipment supply and EPC transactions across our portfolio of gas generation for data centers, solar, wind, battery storage, and high-voltage projects. Reporting to the Senior Director of Procurement, you will serve as the quarterback for major commercial deals—structuring RFPs, negotiating complex equipment supply agreements, and orchestrating inputs across Development, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance, and Legal to bring bankable contracts across the finish line.

Success here hinges on decisive inter-departmental leadership, meticulous organization, and commercial composure under pressure. You will cultivate deep, respectful partnerships with OEMs, suppliers, and EPC contractors while driving rigorous quantitative analysis and clear executive alignment to secure long-run value for Intersect's power infrastructure fleet.

Team overview
This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect's mission to accelerate the clean energy transition and power critical digital infrastructure. The Procurement team negotiates major equipment, construction, and O&M contracts while building enduring partnerships with top-tier OEMs and execution partners. Joining this tight-knit group means stepping into a high-ownership environment where your commercial judgment directly unlocks multi-hundred-million-dollar power and data center projects.

What you'll do
Own and Execute Equipment Supply Transactions
Structure, negotiate, and execute major equipment supply agreements—with a primary focus on gas generation equipment for data center construction alongside solar, wind, BESS, and high-voltage assets—ensuring alignment with project schedules and financial targets.
Lead end-to-end Request for Proposal (RFP) processes, including scope definition, commercial and quantitative bid leveling in Google Sheets, and final award recommendations.
Support secondary EPC contract negotiations and manage post-execution contract actions, including amendments, change orders, warranty administration, performance monitoring, and commercial claims.

Drive Cross-Functional Deal Leadership
Take full accountability for transaction task lists, timelines, and deliverables, leading stakeholders across Development, Engineering, Construction, Project Finance, and Legal to contribute effectively to final deal execution.
Translate complex technical, legal, and financial requirements into cohesive commercial contract structures in Google Docs that satisfy project finance bankability standards.
Distill multi-faceted commercial tradeoffs, risk allocations, and pricing models into crisp, persuasive executive presentations in Google Slides to drive rapid leadership decisions.

Cultivate Strategic Supplier & Counterparty Partnerships
Build and maintain trusted, respectful relationships with key gas generation OEMs, major equipment suppliers, and tier-one EPC contractors to secure manufacturing capacity and competitive commercial terms.
Maintain calmness and constructive focus under adversity, resolving commercial deadlocks, supply chain bottlenecks, and schedule pressures without sacrificing long-term partnership value.

What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Business, or a related field; an engineering background is preferred.
5+ years of experience procuring major equipment (specifically gas generation equipment, turbines, transformers, BESS, wind, or solar) and negotiating EPC or equipment supply contracts for utility-scale power or data center projects.
Demonstrated transaction leadership with the ability to take complete ownership of a deal, manage complex task lists with accuracy and attention to detail, and guide cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Advanced commercial contracting and negotiation skills, including deep familiarity with equipment warranties, liquidated damages, performance guarantees, limitation of liability, and delivery schedules.
Strong quantitative analysis and executive communication skills, with high proficiency in Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Excel, and Slack to model commercial scenarios and present clear recommendations.
Strategic thinking paired with calmness under adversity, bringing structure, organization, and respect to both internal colleagues and external counterparties.
Commitment to collaborative execution and principled deal-making, aligned with Intersect's core values of Equity, Humility, Authenticity, Long-run Value, and People Come First.
