About this role
Interested in joining one of Canada’s top-performing asset managers? We are looking for an Analyst, Business Process Eng ineering for an existing vacancy in our Investment Data Architecture (IDArch) team. Our team resides within the middle office and enables the organization to get more value from its investment data. We lead Modern Data Platform (MDP) enablement for the investment data domain, set the standards and governance that help business teams own and build trusted data products, and act as primary owners of the Investment Data Management platform, including security master, pricing master, and market reference data. We place high value on maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit and creating a culture where each of us has opportunities to succeed. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic strategic team whose scope and influence are growing enterprise-wide. Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in office and remote working days throughout the week.
What You Will Do
- Document current-state investment data processes end to end – inputs, systems, hand-offs, controls, and downstream uses – and design clear future-state processes.
- Work closely with investment teams to understand how data is used in their research and production workflows, translate their timeliness and quality needs into process requirements, and prioritize improvements that matter most to investment outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, address common points of failure, and improve the timeliness and quality of data delivered to investment processes across security master, pricing master, and ETL processes.
- Partner with the technology team to automate manual workflows and scheduled processes, and support testing and implementation of process changes.
- Identify, assess, and escalate process risks; recommend and implement appropriate controls, checks, and exception monitoring.
- Produce clear process artifacts such as process maps, RACI matrices, procedures, runbooks, and best-practice guides.
- Define and track process metrics (e.g., timeliness, exception volumes, manual touchpoints, data delivery times) to measure improvement and support data service levels for investment teams.
- Work with subject-matter experts and process owners to roll out new processes and help downstream users understand and adopt them.
- Support investment data projects, including platform transitions and affiliate/client onboarding, by bringing a process lens to requirements, design, and readiness.
What You Bring
- A degree in business, finance, information systems, or a related analytical field. Training in process design or improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is an asset; progress toward a designation such as the CFA or FRM is an asset.
- 3+ years of experience in process improvement, business analysis, investment operations, or investment data management. Experience in asset management or financial services is strongly preferred; familiarity with security, pricing, or reference data processes, or exposure to quantitative investment teams and their data needs, is a plus.
- You are a systems thinker who can break complex processes into components, find root causes, and propose practical improvements. Experience with process modeling tools (e.g., Engage Process Modeler, Visio) is an asset.
- You understand how data moves through systems and where it is best to make certain manipulations. Familiarity with workflow automation and data tools (e.g., Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI) and AI tools is an asset; SQL or Python experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to detect patterns, extract insights, and manage multiple priorities.
- You can identify and assess process risks and know when to escalate.
- You communicate clearly with business and technical audiences, work collaboratively, and help build alignment across teams.
- You take ownership of your work, are committed to continuous learning, and bring curiosity about the “art of the possible” in process design.
The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000–$120,000. The midpoint represents our general market target for a fully qualified and experienced individual performing the role. Actual starting salary may fall below or above the midpoint depending on the candidate's relevant experience, skills and qualifications, as well as internal equity considerations. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
