About this role
SAIC is seeking a Senior Logistics & Configuration Management Analyst to support programs at NSWC Crane, IN, with primary focus on the MQ‑4C Triton and P‑8A Poseidon teams. The selected candidate will perform system fault analysis, life‑cycle maintenance analysis, and Integrated Product Support (IPS) for major systems while providing end‑to‑end configuration and data management of hardware and software products.
This role combines configuration management (CM) responsibilities—ECP/RFV management, effectivity and baseline control, asset configuration tracking, and IPDM/PLM data management—with logistics and product support analysis, including supply chain optimization, maintenance/supportability analytics, and development of decision support tools. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, hands‑on CM experience, and a background in logistics/product support within a defense environment.
This position is onsite at NSWC Crane with up to 10% travel
JOB RESPONSIBILITES
Configuration Management & Data Control
- Execute and maintain formal CM processes in accordance with program, contractual, NSWC Crane, and corporate standards.
- Ensure configuration identification, control, status accounting, and CM audits are properly implemented and documented.
- Review engineering drawings, BOMs, specifications, and technical data for CM compliance, correct metadata, and traceability.
- Ensure proper release, revision control, and obsolescence management of drawings and product data.
Change Management (ECPs/RFVs) & Baseline Control
- Coordinate, review, and process Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Requests for Variance (RFVs), waivers, and other change requests.
- Verify completeness, correctness, and traceability of change documentation, including technical, cost/schedule, risk, and logistics impacts.
- Define and manage effectivity (by serial number, lot, date, configuration) to ensure changes are implemented on the correct assets at the correct time.
- Maintain and reconcile as‑designed, as‑built, and as‑maintained configuration baselines and provide configuration status accounting reports.
- Lead, Support, or participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and other review boards as required.
Integrated Product Data Management (iPDM)/PLM, Asset Management & Repair Documentation
- Manage product data in iPDM/PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Windchill, Enovia, Agile), ensuring documents, models, and BOMs are correctly stored, linked, versioned, and released.
- Support data migration, cleanup, and structuring activities to improve data integrity and usability.
- Utilize iPDM/PLM asset modules to create and maintain accurate serialized asset records across their lifecycle (as‑built, as‑repaired, as‑maintained).
- Develop, maintain, and control repair travelers, routers, and related shop floor/depot repair documentation.
- Ensure repair traveler records accurately reflect configuration changes, nonconformances, rework, and maintenance actions and are available to support audits and investigations.
Logistics & Product Support Analysis
- Perform system fault analysis, life‑cycle maintenance analysis, and IPS for related NSWC Crane systems.
- Analyze product support, maintenance, and supply data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in design, documentation, training, and supportability.
- Develop strategies to reduce failure rates, improve operational availability, and enhance customer satisfaction with product support.
- Ensure execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes across maintenance, supply, transportation, and logistics planning.
Mathematical Modeling, Optimization & Decision Support
- Apply mathematical modeling and analytical techniques (e.g., linear programming, simulation, queuing theory, reliability/maintainability analysis) to optimize logistics networks, inventory levels, and resource allocation.
- Develop and implement decision support tools, reports, and dashboards to assist management with logistics, product support, and resource allocation decisions.
- Provide analytical support to develop and refine logistics, product support, and configuration management policies and procedures.
Business Intelligence, Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and support business intelligence tools and services that integrate CM, logistics, and maintenance data.
