About this role

PPG Quality · Huntsville/Madison, AL · On-site at a client automotive manufacturing facility · Full-time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. (40 hours). A reduced-hour schedule may be considered for the right candidate. Occasional weekend coverage required. Member of a rotating emergency on-call team for hours with no on-site coverage.

Pay: $25.00 per hour, paid hourly with overtime for all hours over 40. On-call participation is paid.

Sign-on bonus: $3,000 for a rapid start, paid after 90 days and conditional on active employment on day 90.

Benefits: Medical, dental, life, and disability insurance. Paid time off and vacation.

The job

You are PPG Quality's on-site presence through the plant's busiest window: the end of day shift, the turnover, and the start of nights. You make sure every night-shift worker is checked in and where they need to be; no-shows are covered before they become a production problem, and new starts get a real orientation instead of being pointed at a door. You are the person night supervisors know by name and trust to get an answer. This role suits someone who likes the second shift, stays calm when several things go wrong at once, and keeps clean records so the day team never starts cold.

Additionally, your duties include routine safety observations, PPE compliance, safety-training verification, near-miss reporting, incident documentation, and immediate escalation of unsafe conditions.  You have responsibility for verifying hiring approvals, required screening, orientation clearance, safety training, and client-specific eligibility requirements before anyone reports for duty.

You will have responsibility to document client feedback, follow-up on complaints, escalation of service concerns, and regular communication with PPG Quality Operations leadership.

What you'll do

- Run night-shift check-in at 6:50 p.m.; track attendance and no-shows; make same-night backfill calls

- Support the day-to-night turnover and be the on-site point of contact for night-shift supervisors

- Deliver evening orientation and complete onboarding paperwork for night-shift new starts

- Respond first to incidents, injuries and conflicts during your shift; document and escalate per PPG process

- Feed the weekly compliance audit: attendance, roster and onboarding data from the evening and night shifts

- Maintain the shift handoff log so the day coordinator starts each morning current

- Communicate in English and Spanish with workers, supervisors and candidates

What you bring

- Fluent English and Spanish, spoken and written (required)

- 2+ years in manufacturing, staffing or on-site coordination, recruiting, or a shift/team lead role; second-shift experience a plus

- Steady under conflict and comfortable having direct conversations on a plant floor

- Organized, accurate with documentation, and comfortable in spreadsheets and an ATS or HRIS

- Reliable transportation and the ability to work on-site at the plant every scheduled shift

- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen per client requirements
