About this role
A. SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own the New Product Manufacturing industrialization and readiness of all new products from concept/design stage through pilot build, Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR), production launch, ramp-up and final handover to Operations.
The role ensures that every new product is manufacturable and can be launched safely and consistently while meeting quality, delivery, cost, capacity and productivity objectives. The position leads and coordinates Manufacturing Engineering (ME) and Industrial Engineering (IE) deliverables across the NPI process and supports VAVE industrialization activities.
B. PRIMARY DUTIES
Compliance, Quality & EHS: Ensure compliance with company policies, Code of Ethics, quality systems, and EHS requirements, including identification and mitigation of manufacturing safety and environmental risks.
New Product & VAVE Industrialization: Lead the manufacturing industrialization of all new products and projects from early product development through production launch, ensuring Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Capacity, and Productivity targets are achieved.
Manufacturing Feasibility & DFMA: Drive early manufacturing feasibility and DFMA reviews covering process capability, equipment, tooling, fixtures, testing, utilities, material flow, manpower, floor space, ergonomics, and capacity requirements.
Manufacturing Process Development: Define and validate the complete manufacturing process, including process flow, routing, workstation design, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, testing, inspection requirements, Standard Work, Work Instructions, and process parameters.
Industrial Engineering & Capacity Planning: Lead cycle-time studies, takt-time analysis, capacity planning, manpower optimization, line balancing, layout, material flow, and bottleneck elimination to ensure efficient and scalable production.
Process Quality & Risk Management: Lead/review Process Flow, PFMEA, PTPR, Control Plan, process capability, part qualification, and manufacturing risk mitigation to ensure robust processes and product quality before production release.
Equipment, Tooling & Supplier Readiness: Ensure timely readiness, qualification, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, gauges, test equipment, and supplier processes required for successful product launch.
Prototype, Pilot Build & Manufacturing Readiness: Lead manufacturing activities for prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds; validate process, quality, cycle time, equipment, manpower, material, documentation, and training readiness prior to Manufacturing Readiness Review (MRR) and production release.
NPI Gate Approval, Launch & Ramp-Up: Represent Manufacturing in NPI gate reviews, approve manufacturing readiness, and drive production launch, ramp-up, and stabilization until required safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.
Continuous Improvement & Operations Handover: Drive VAVE, Lean, productivity, automation, cycle-time and cost improvements; capture lessons learned and ensure structured handover to Operations, including documentation, training, process validation, capacity confirmation, and closure of launch actions.
