Island Veterinary Clinic is looking for an experienced weekend Associate Veterinarian to join our team on Wilmington Island in Savannah, Georgia. Serving the Islands since 1973, we're a friendly neighborhood practice with a loyal client base, and we're adding a weekend veterinarian to our team.
The Schedule
This is a weekends-only position :
- Saturday: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
That's a predictable, set schedule with your weekdays fully free, which makes it a great fit if you work elsewhere during the week, want to supplement your income, or are looking for a lighter schedule in a beautiful coastal community.
Why Savannah and Wilmington Island?
Wilmington Island sits between historic Savannah and the Atlantic, with marsh views, marinas, and a relaxed island pace.
- Tybee Island is about 30 minutes away. Savannah's beach offers miles of sand, dolphin cruises, and kayaking out to undeveloped Little Tybee Island. Climb the Tybee Light Station, Georgia's oldest and tallest lighthouse at 178 feet.
- Fort Pulaski National Monument is a Civil War-era fort on the road to Tybee, with trails, fishing, and wildlife along the Savannah River.
- On-island nature. Wilmington Island Community Park has nature trails at the island's southern tip, and local marinas make getting on the water easy.
- Forsyth Park and the Historic District. Walk the 30-acre park and its 1850s fountain, stroll the squares under the Spanish moss, or head to River Street for waterfront dining. The Savannah Jazz Festival fills the park each September.
- Oatland Island Wildlife Center and Bonaventure Cemetery are close by, and SCAD gives the city a vibrant arts scene.
- Savannah Bananas games at historic Grayson Stadium, one of the most entertaining nights out in baseball.
- A food and music scene that's nationally known, with fresh Lowcountry seafood close at hand.

About the Role

Qualifications
- DVM degree and active (or eligible) Georgia veterinary license
- Experienced small animal veterinarian, comfortable seeing appointments and performing surgery independently (2+ years of clinical experience preferred)
- A warm, client-friendly communication style
- Reliability and a love of the weekend shift
