About this role
The Homeowner Recruitment Specialist advances Austin Habitat for Humanity’s homeownership recruitment strategy by developing employer and workforce partnerships, expanding awareness of affordable homeownership opportunities, and generating and nurturing a strong pipeline of prospective homeowner leads.
This position specializes in employer-based workforce recruitment, building relationships with human resource departments, large employers, healthcare systems, medical schools, labor unions, skilled trades organizations, educational institutions, and other workforce partners to connect individuals and families with Austin Habitat’s homeownership opportunities.
Through targeted outreach, employer presentations, information sessions, referral channels and recruitment communications, the Homeowner Recruitment Specialist moves interested prospects from initial awareness and inquiry toward readiness for referral to Client Services. This role collaborates closely with Client Services to ensure prospective homeowners receive accurate program information and experience a clear, timely handoff when they are ready to begin the application process.
In addition to collaboration within the Marketing & Communication department, this role works with other internal teams to align recruitment efforts with program capacity and organizational priorities and to measure and continually improve the effectiveness of homeowner recruitment strategies.

- Maintain accurate lead-source attribution to determine which employer partnerships, referral sources, events, presentations, and outreach strategies produce meaningful prospect engagement and successful Client Services handoffs.
- Track and report recruitment performance, including employer and workforce partnerships established, outreach activities, referrals and leads generated, lead engagement, successful Client Services handoffs, and lead-to-handoff conversion. Monitor downstream application activity in partnership with Client Services to evaluate lead quality and recruitment-channel effectiveness without owning application completion or eligibility determination.
