About this role
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Process purchase orders for stock and job-related material.
- Review approved suppliers and complete evaluations as required by ISO Procedure
- Assists with min/maxs for stock of major components based on the assigned commodity list
- Allocate and issue major components when BOM is released
- Responsible for obtaining quotes by deadline dates and accuracy of quotes.
- Analyze costs and negotiate prices for goods and services.
- Monitor and manage existing orders to ensure on time deliveries.
- Communicate with vendors regarding delivery schedules, quality issues, and cost concerns.
- Work with the Production Manager, Managers, and Engineering department to make sure quotes are obtained per the data sheet and BOM .
- Expedite supplier orders as required to support production.
- Utilize ERP system for data entry and purchase orders.
- Knowledge of purchasing procedures per ISO 9001 guidelines.
- Assist with product returns and/or errors, working with the shipping and receiving department.
- Participate in meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience required.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Economics, or related field preferred.
- Experience working in Dynamics ERP system and Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members, clients, and suppliers.
- Negotiation skills to work with suppliers and make better deals for the company.
- An understanding of purchase order software platforms.
- Good attention to detail to ensure all purchase orders are accurate.
- Math skills to make sure all calculations are correct and avoid any unforeseen losses for the company.
- Proactive, positive, professional, team-minded, and self-motivating.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
