The Project Scheduler will own scheduling activities across complex engineering and manufacturing programs in a highly regulated, nuclear-grade environment. This role focuses on developing and maintaining resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, while partnering closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, and project management teams. The scheduler will drive schedule integrity, visibility, and predictability across programs and serve as a key contributor to project controls and customer-facing reporting.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed resource-loaded and cost-loaded project schedules using Oracle Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Create integrated CPM (Critical Path Method) schedules that align engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, and customer requirements.
- Identify and manage critical path activities, forecast potential delays, and support schedule recovery planning to keep projects on track.
- Perform schedule analysis, including progress measurement, variance analysis, and schedule health assessments, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
- Support project controls activities by tracking project performance, milestones, and variances, and provide schedule inputs for Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting when required.
- Coordinate project schedules with customer master schedules to ensure alignment, transparency, and accurate forecasting.
- Forecast staffing needs, labor allocation, and project costs through effective resource and cost loading in project schedules.
- Independently manage multiple project schedules with minimal training, ensuring timely updates and high data integrity.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, and project leadership teams to capture realistic task durations, dependencies, and constraints.
- Prepare and deliver schedule-related reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Continuously monitor schedule risks, identify potential issues early, and recommend mitigation strategies to project leadership.
- Support manufacturing and engineering scheduling by aligning fabrication timelines, quality milestones, and regulatory requirements within the overall project plan.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze schedule data, prepare reports, and support project performance tracking.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of scheduling standards, procedures, and best practices within the organization.
- Act as a subject matter expert in project scheduling over time, providing guidance and support to project teams on scheduling tools and methodologies.
Essential Skills
- Strong, hands-on experience with Oracle Primavera P6, with the ability to independently build and maintain complex project schedules from Day 1.
- Proven experience creating and maintaining CPM (Critical Path Method) schedules for technical, engineering, manufacturing, or industrial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own and manage multiple project schedules with minimal training and immediate productivity.
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, industrial, defense, energy, construction, or other technical project environments.
- Experience performing schedule analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting in a project controls or scheduling role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project for building and maintaining project schedules.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and schedule-related metrics.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, quality, and project management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret schedule data, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Capability to work 100% onsite in Lafayette, CO in a primarily office-based environment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without restrictions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience in nuclear industry projects or nuclear-grade manufacturing environments.
- Experience supporting defense or government projects, including DOE or DOD programs.
