DC 3rd Class Engineer – Joint Base Anacostia- Bolling

EMI Services is hiring an DC 3rd Class Engineer whos' primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation and maintenance during his/her watch of all equipment in his/her plant. The DC 3rd Class operates and maintains one or more systems which provide the facility with such services as heat, air-conditioning ( cool, humidify, dehumidify, filter, and circulate air), refrigeration, steam or high temperature water or electricity. Must have a Third Class License and an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI .
Salary
$53.02/ hr. -$59.89 (DOE) plus employer paid health benefits and pension!
Key Responsibilities
- Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters and charts which register various aspects of the system's operation
- Adjust controls to insure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet demands for the service provided
- Record in logs various aspects of the system's operation
- Keep the engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order
- May direct and coordinate activities of other workers (not stationary engineers) in performing tasks directly related to operating and maintaining the system or systems
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Adaptable and flexible in work situations
- Prioritizes tasks to ensure completion in a timely manner
- PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies - Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in an industrial or commercial facilities maintenance environment
- DC 3rd Class License
- MUST have a Top Secret Clearance with SCI
- Valid driver’s license compliant with the REAL ID Act
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- U. S. citizenship to obtain and maintain access to military installations
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
- Use of hands, reaching with hands and arms, talking, and walking
- Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, squatting, standing, twisting, or stooping
- Climbing ladders and entering confined spaces
- May spend long hours in awkward positions which can cause physical discomfort and strain
- May stand for long periods and frequently work on ladders and scaffolds
- Work both indoors and outdoors in various temperatures (some extreme) and weather conditions.
- Electricians risk injury from electrical shock, falls, and cuts
