What You Will Do:
- Extract the latest drawing from where drawings are stored to determine if a full first article, partial, or delta FAI is required based on the historical data retrieved from the quality folder, including reviewing the existing First Article package to ensure there are no gaps that need to be included in the FAI package.
- Balloon each dimension, including flag notes and Specs, to ensure the part is manufactured to the correct material requirement called out in the flag note
- Release the ballooned drawing to manufacturing to record actual dimensions and provide supporting documents such as operation sheets and ATP test results
- Gather all the necessary information required to upload to the DISCUS software, including the operation sheets and ATP test results, with the recorded dimensions
- Compile the actuals and populate them using ballooning software to determine each dimension and flag notes that are within tolerances called out on the drawing.
- Verify that the gage or technique that was used by manufacturing is the correct method based on the tolerance called out on the drawing
- Compile the AS9102C (Forms 1,2, and 3) and create the First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to include the op sheets, material certs, and specs that are referenced in the flag notes of the drawing
- Import the First Article Inspection Package to Net Inspect
- Ensure the FAI package meets each customer’s requirements as referenced in the Quality Plan before presenting it to the external customer
- Notify manufacturing and quality of the recorded non-conformances that are discovered when populating the actuals in DISCUS, ensuring that the necessary actions have been taken by manufacturing to prevent recurrence.
What You Will Bring:
- 2 to 5+ years in quality inspection within precision machining, aerospace manufacturing, or automotive
- Experience in First Article Inspection, compiling a package using electronic ballooning software per AS9102C requirements.
