Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P.  is seeking a highly organized and proactive Maintenance Schedule to join our growing team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Planner, and Maintenance Coordinator (MRO), the Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling the daily and weekly maintenance execution schedule. The role ensures prioritized preventive, corrective, compliance, and project work is appropriately sequenced and assigned to available maintenance labour resources in alignment with operational requirements, supporting safe, efficient, and effective maintenance execution.

The Maintenance Scheduler partners with the Maintenance Planner to convert properly planned, prioritized, and fully kitted work orders into an executable schedule. The Scheduler ensures work is sequenced and assigned based on technician availability, skills, qualifications, equipment availability, and operational priorities. The Scheduler also applies approved frequency-based preventive maintenance (PM) plans to the execution schedule and supports completion within defined compliance windows.

The Maintenance Scheduler maintains the prioritized maintenance backlog by controlling the sequencing and timing of work orders in accordance with approved priority rules. The role maintains schedule integrity by balancing preventive, corrective, compliance, project, and emergent work. Working closely with the Maintenance Planner, Production, Quality Control, and Operations support teams, the Scheduler confirms maintenance windows, communicates execution schedules, coordinates schedule changes, and helps minimize operational conflicts and downtime.

The Maintenance Scheduler collaborates with the Maintenance Coordinator (MRO) to confirm material and parts readiness and works with maintenance technicians to ensure the schedule is practical and feasible for execution. In partnership with the Maintenance Supervisor, the Scheduler supports daily work execution, coordinates labour and overtime requirements, schedules training and skills development activities, and monitors planned versus actual task completion times to ensure accurate CMMS feedback that supports scheduling accuracy, workforce readiness, and continuous improvement.

This position also provides an opportunity for the successful candidate to broaden their knowledge of maintenance planning practices and develop additional planning capabilities over time.

How you will make contributions that matter:

- Work with maintenance technicians to confirm that scheduled work is feasible and identify execution constraints

- Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Quality Control, and Operations to minimize schedule conflicts and downtime

- Monitor schedule adherence, backlog progress, and preventive maintenance completion, and capture planned-versus-actual execution feedback in the CMMS

- Schedule maintenance training and skills development time in coordination with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager

- Support maintenance best practices and continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean, TPM, RCM, and FMEA

- Build knowledge of maintenance planning processes and support selected planning activities as experience and capability develop

- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
