Meet the Team
Core to the health and growth of our business, Millennium's Information Technology organization builds the flexible, scalable platforms and advanced proprietary systems that support the firm's active, multi-manager model. Within this organization, the Quality Engineering team partners with the Equities Transactional Systems team on Comet, the firm's next-generation equity post-trade platform covering trade lifecycle event processing, positions, P&L, option expiry and corporate actions, built as high-throughput services and data pipelines on AWS.
What You'll Do
- Own test strategy and execution for new features, partnering with developers, business analysts, and Middle Office and Operations stakeholders from design through release.
- Translate business rules into comprehensive test scenarios and edge cases across the trade lifecycle, including trades, positions, P&L, option expiry, corporate actions, as-of events, backdated events, and corrections.
- Independently calculate expected realized, unrealized, and mark-to-market P&L results, and reconcile exceptions against source-of-truth datasets and legacy systems.
- Design, build, and maintain automated test coverage across Java/Spring Boot microservices, REST and GraphQL APIs, Kafka event flows, batch jobs, data workflows, and user interfaces.
- Validate batch and workflow behavior, including reruns, failures, idempotency, and cache consistency between Redis and the database.
- Build data-validation and reconciliation checks to protect the integrity of setup data, positions, balances, and downstream outputs.
- Expand regression coverage and quality gates within CI pipelines to continuously validate changes.
- Track, triage, and document defects with clear reproduction steps; use logs and metrics to support root-cause analysis, verify fixes, and support release readiness through environment validation, smoke and sanity testing, access and entitlement checks, and test sign-off documentation.
What You Bring
- Prior fintech or capital-markets experience in quality engineering for pre-trade or post-trade equity systems within a hedge fund, investment bank, asset manager, or fintech organization.
- 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering and test automation.
- Hands-on knowledge of corporate actions and option expiry, including their impact on positions and P&L.
- Strong Java test-automation skills, including JUnit or TestNG, REST Assured, Spring Boot Test, and Mockito.
- Experience testing REST and GraphQL APIs, including contract, schema, authentication, and entitlement validation.
- Advanced SQL skills for data validation and reconciliation; PostgreSQL experience is preferred, though experience with any relational database is welcome.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes on AWS, CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, Git, and Agile delivery practices.
- A precise, analytical approach; strong written and verbal communication skills; sound judgment when using AI coding assistants; and the ability to collaborate effectively with developers, Middle Office, and Operations.
