Meet the Team
Millennium’s Information Technology organization supports the firm’s active, multi-manager business model through flexible, scalable technology and advanced proprietary systems, including next-generation analytical and trading capabilities. Within Infrastructure, the global network engineering team designs, develops, deploys, and supports high-performance networks for latency-critical trading. Operating across North America, EMEA, and APAC in a follow-the-sun model, the team supports data centers, market data networks, colocation, and proximity colocation sites with demanding availability requirements.
What You'll Do
• Engineer low-latency network solutions for trading, market data, and colocation environments, balancing project delivery with operational support
• Own global network projects from requirements gathering and design through cost analysis, implementation, and deployment
• Lead research and evaluation of new network technologies, including RF, low-latency transport, routing, switching, and compute technologies
• Configure, install, maintain, and support critical network hardware and software
• Research, evaluate costs for, and implement data circuits to meet connectivity requirements
• Design and implement highly available, low-latency market data networks
• Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, providing hands-on technical ownership and responsive user support
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, policies, and procedures, and participate in after-hours work and an on-call rotation
What You Bring
• At least seven years of experience in network engineering, operations, and support, with demonstrated hands-on technical ownership in a global organization
• Expert knowledge of low-latency networking, including multicast protocols such as IGMP and PIM, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, WAN design, BGP, and OSPF
• Experience with Arista and Cisco technologies, including Layer 1 switches; knowledge of FPGA and high-performance computing technologies is a plus
• Strong understanding of time synchronization technologies, including Precision Time Protocol, White Rabbit, and PPS, and their role in low-latency environments
• Expert IP networking and TCP/IP troubleshooting skills, strong Linux shell experience, and proficiency with Python, Bash, and automation tools such as Ansible
• Experience applying AI/ML tools to network performance optimization, anomaly detection, and predictive analytics, with an understanding of frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn
• Experience using telemetry and observability frameworks such as Prometheus and Grafana for real-time network monitoring and troubleshooting
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver responsive, high-quality service to internal customers in a fast-paced environment
