About this role

Job ID: 7155

Trade volumes are growing, regulatory deadlines are getting tighter, and post-trade processes are becoming more complex. At Nordea Asset Management, we're answering that with smarter, more automated ways of working, and we need someone to help us do it.

As part of our Trade Support team in Portugal, you'll support portfolio managers and traders by owning the post-trade lifecycle for Securities (Equities, Fixed Income, Repos). You'll work daily with custodians and brokers across Europe and beyond to make sure trades are matched, settled and resolved on time.

You'll join a Back Office of 41 colleagues from 9 nationalities, in a team that values ownership, collaboration and speaking up. You won't just run the process. You'll also help improve it by reducing manual work, increasing STP and using data to see where we can do better.

Your focus will be Securities, and over time you'll have the opportunity to broaden into FX and become a versatile Trade Support professional across both flows.

Your future responsibilities

In this role, you will:

Securities (Equities, Fixed Income, Repos)

- Ensure timely matching of trades in CTM (block and allocation)

- Investigate and resolve mismatches and amendments together with custodians and brokers

- Follow up on settlement status and resolve fails and issues in the settlement chain

- Onboard new clients and markets into the trade flow, working closely with the business units

Across Trade Support

- Communicate clearly with front- and back-office teams

- Follow market updates and regulatory changes, and assess their impact on our processes

- Identify root causes of manual work, amendments and mismatches, and propose practical fixes

- Help increase STP by contributing to automation and integration initiatives

- Use data and reporting tools, leveraging Snowflake, to track workload, quality and STP

- Document changes and new procedures

- Participate in projects as required

- Build knowledge of FX processes as part of your development

Your experience

What you bring

- 2-3 years in financial operations, in post-trade processing for Equities, Fixed Income or Repos

- Practical experience with trade matching and with investigating and resolving mismatches and amendments

- Working knowledge of the securities settlement lifecycle and of resolving issues with custodians, brokers or other external counterparties

- Experience coordinating with front office, back office and external partners, including onboarding clients, markets or setups

- Good written and spoken English

It would be a plus if you have:

- Experience with CTM, ALERT or SWIFT messaging

- Exposure to FX trade processing or settlement

- Experience with Power BI, and SQL or Snowflake, to analyse workload, quality and STP

- Experience reducing amendments or manual interventions through process or tooling changes

- Experience using AI tools to speed up analysis, reporting or documentation

No FX experience is needed to apply. We'll help you build it.

Who you are

Collaboration, Ownership, Passion and Courage guide how we work. In this role, that means:

- Collaboration: You work well with colleagues across the front and back office and with external partners in different markets and time zones.

- Ownership: You take responsibility for a trade or an issue until it's resolved, and you look for the root cause rather than just fixing the symptom.

- Passion: You're curious about data, process improvement and automation, and you enjoy finding ways to reduce manual work and increase STP.

- Courage: You speak up, challenge custodians and brokers constructively when needed, and raise issues early, even when it's uncomfortable.

You're service-minded and adapt quickly when priorities or processes change.
