We are looking for a Social Marketing Manager to join the Netflix Social Marketing team to own the social strategy and lead the campaigns for our Spanish and Portuguese productions and our biggest international shows and movies, as well as our live content. The social team at Netflix is at the forefront of conversation with our audiences, building exciting, hilarious, thoughtful social campaigns and content to build and ignite fandom across the internet and into the real world.
Social Marketing Managers are responsible for building social media marketing campaigns for our TV series, films and documentaries, as well as for live content. Their role is to develop a strong understanding of the audience communities connected to our titles,, figuring out ways to get people even more excited. Their goal is to get people talking, and they do it by knowing what makes fans tick, what ticks them off, and creating content, big and small, that helps take a title from a hit into a cultural mega-hit.
We are seeking a highly driven, self-motivated person who lives and breathes TV and films. You are an excellent communicator, strategist and creative. You are always learning and testing new ideas. You are comfortable scrutinising your own ideas, and you are always the first to ask, "How could this have been better?" This job will require you to juggle multiple titles and live moments at once, along with many different kinds of short and long-term tasks, including coordinating with different parts of the company, producing and giving notes on AV and static assets, copywriting, defining high-level strategy for titles, and much more, and nimbly move through all these responsibilities with ease. Above all, you have an instinct for good social creative, strong platform and creator knowledge, great ideas, and the passion, energy and creative ambition to see it all through.
What will I be doing?
- Social media marketing. You'll be working with our Title Marketing and Publicity teams (among many others) to create unique and exciting campaigns in support of our TV shows, films and live content. From fast-turnaround reactive to high-production big swings, you'll make social media content that gets people talking for the duration of the campaign.
- Live content. You'll lead the social strategy for our live content, working with Publicity, Events and production teams to plan real-time coverage and reactive content, and to turn the moment into content that travels beyond the broadcast.
- You'll set the strategy for social campaigns, and be a strategic thought partner within the wider title team. You'll guide all areas of the campaign and inform how it shows up on social.
- You'll act as the social point of view for the market, advising senior stakeholders and influencing decisions across Marketing, Publicity and Brand Partnerships. You'll also guide agencies and more junior team members, setting the creative bar and helping them deliver their best work.
- We work with some of the best talent in the business. You'll be working with Publicity and Marketing partners to ensure we're capturing class-leading content with our stars, from simple, playful formats to beautifully shot scripted concepts.
- Whether it's creator collabs, a reality TV reunion, a fan event or a cast stepping into an unexpected setting, the sky's the limit for creative big swings. You'll be responsible for working with internal and external production teams to bring high-impact content to life.
- You'll be thinking about the best place for our campaigns to play out. Sometimes, everything lands perfectly on our own Netflix social channels, but other times, the campaign goals or audience profile means you have to look elsewhere on the internet. You'll make that call, own the budget and select the external partners you need to bring things to life and reach the right people.
- As well as planned content, you'll be working on fast-turnaround reactive content in partnership with our Platform Manager and Agency Partner.
- You'll work with all areas of the business, including Brand Partnerships and Consumer Products, to coordinate social activations, keeping everyone updated on the status of our social media campaigns and on trends and innovations. Strong project management skills are fundamental.
