- Build reusable automation capabilities for data extraction, transformation, validation, reconciliation, reporting, file processing, workflow execution and exception handling, integrating with databases, APIs, enterprise applications and data platforms where required.
- Develop robust and maintainable solutions with appropriate error handling, logging, monitoring, documentation and recovery mechanisms, ensuring reliability and operational resilience at scale.
- Apply AI and machine-learning techniques to use cases including classification, summarisation, information extraction, document processing, prediction and natural-language interaction, selecting the most appropriate approach based on the business problem.
- Develop and evaluate AI solutions, assessing accuracy, relevance, consistency and reliability while addressing hallucination, inappropriate outputs, data privacy, security, explainability and responsible AI risks.
- Work closely with the Product Lead, Data Engineering, Application Development and QA teams to understand priorities, acceptance criteria, estimates, dependencies, risks and implementation options, supporting Agile delivery and productionisation.
- Continuously improve and manage the lifecycle of automation and AI solutions by applying emerging technologies such as LLMs, RAG, AI agents, Microsoft Power Platform, Azure AI, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric and modern development frameworks, while ensuring effective testing, deployment, troubleshooting, documentation and handover.

To be successful you will:

- Six or more years of experience in automation, software development, data engineering, analytics engineering, AI/ML or a related technical discipline. Strong programming and scripting fundamentals, with experience in technologies such as SQL, JavaScript, C#, Java, PowerShell or equivalent.
- Experience developing API integrations, data-processing solutions, automated workflows and file-processing capabilities using databases, enterprise applications and modern development environments. Practical experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models, prompt engineering and LLM-based application development, including one or more of RAG, embeddings, vector databases, AI APIs or AI agents.
- Understanding of machine-learning model development, including data preparation, model selection, training, evaluation, tuning and deployment concepts. Ability to build clean, maintainable and well-documented code with appropriate testing, error handling, logging, monitoring, recovery and observability mechanisms.
- Experience with Git, GitHub or Azure DevOps, APIs, databases, CI/CD and Agile or product-oriented delivery environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with the ability to investigate issues across code, data, APIs and technology dependencies and convert complex manual processes into scalable automation.
- Ability to translate requirements received through the Product Lead into clear technical solutions and communicate effort, dependencies, risks, limitations and trade-offs effectively.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and Power Platform capabilities, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Graph API, Office Scripts and VBA.
- Experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, AI agents, agentic workflows, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, Azure AI Search or equivalent AI platforms and frameworks.
- Experience with advanced SQL, Databricks, Azure, Microsoft Fabric or similar cloud platforms, together with knowledge of data science, statistical modelling, predictive analytics, AI evaluation and responsible AI governance.
