GNB provides consistent, in-depth and dedicated coverage across the network with the goal of deepening relationships with our customers and is a significant contributor of revenue to the bank.

The Netherlands branch has ~70 employees and provides an open and diverse work environment, with > 20 nationalities on the ground.

As a Senior Relationship Manager in Global Network Banking, you will play a key role in managing and growing a portfolio of corporate clients. You’ll build trusted relationships, understand international needs, and connect clients to HSBC’s global capabilities and product expertise.

The Netherlands is an exciting environment to support internationally active clients, grow cross-border revenues, and deliver sustainable returns through deepening existing relationships and targeted acquisition of new quality customers.

What you will do:

•    Client relationship management: Be the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for a portfolio of corporate network banking clients. Deepen relationships across products and, where applicable, countries. Maintain a proactive client strategy in coordination with the GRM team and product partners.
•    Business development and growth: Sustainably grow revenues from the existing portfolio and through targeted acquisition of new quality customers. Proactively manage the pipeline and originate opportunities across products and geographies, with a clear focus on international/cross-border revenue growth.
•    Strategic advisory: Engage in strategic dialogue with regional executives and treasury teams, understand clients’ global ambitions, and provide tailored solutions that support their international growth.
•    Product and service coordination: Work collaboratively with product and service partners (including Global Payment Solutions, Global Trade Solutions, Markets and Client Services) to deliver integrated solutions. Deliver a consistently high standard of service by owning customer engagement and acting to the highest professional standards. Ensure fairness in product delivery, communication, administration and complaint handling.
•    Portfolio, credit and risk management: Monitor the client portfolio and generate quality assets using appropriate risk management tools, priced appropriately for risk and within customers’ and HSBC’s risk appetite. Structure credit facilities to balance customer needs and HSBC interests within the bounds of prudent banking. Partner closely with Risk to validate customer risk profiles, ensure sustainable asset growth, and identify problem relationships early and take appropriate action.
•    Onboarding and operational excellence: Oversee the end-to-end onboarding journey and act as a point of escalation for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of customer information and deal pipeline on relevant systems.
•    Market and sector expertise: Stay current on external factors influencing international business (economic, cultural, geographical, procedural and regulatory). Provide clients with relevant insights on market conditions, regulatory developments, and international trade flows.
•    Representation: Act as an ambassador for HSBC and help build the bank’s profile in the local international business community.

You should apply if you have:

•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Extensive experience in managing commercial relationships with international needs, ideally within corporate banking.
•    Proven track record in business development, including portfolio growth and targeted acquisition.
•    Strong ability to identify customer needs and match them to a broad range of products and services, delivering creative and flexible solutions.
•    Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including the ability to deliver compelling presentations.
•    Robust analytical, documentation, structuring and organizational skills, with the ability to manage requests with diligence and pace.
•    Strong risk and control mindset, including internal control, corporate governance, and working knowledge of applicable security/risk concepts and methodologies.
•    Effective, determined, resilient, well-organized, hands on and able to work autonomously in an environment with many stakeholder interests.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Being able to speak Dutch is helpful but not a requirement.

Even if you feel you do not fit 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you not to let this hold you back from applying if you believe this is the role for you.
