Engineering Technician

Description

Support Engineering and the Tool Room in the build, modification, repair, and improvement of manufacturing tooling, fixtures, production aids, and equipment.
Assist with tooling and equipment used for RF welding, assembly, cutting, punching, printing, heat sealing, and other manufacturing processes.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems involving production equipment, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing processes; support timely restoration of production when needed.
Apply practical mechanical knowledge involving pneumatics, bearings, shafts, linear motion components, motors, gearboxes, fasteners, and mechanical assemblies.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical assemblies, sketches, specifications, and work instructions to support fabrication, assembly, modification, and troubleshooting activities.
Perform light machining, fabrication, fitting, and assembly work as needed; safely operate basic machine-shop equipment when required.
Assist engineers with prototype builds, equipment development, process development, manufacturing trials, and new product or process introduction activities.
Support validation and qualification activities by setting up equipment, executing approved test protocols, collecting and recording data, documenting results, and assisting with troubleshooting during IQ/OQ/PQ activities.
Support development and improvement of poka-yokes, workstations, fixtures, tooling, and semi-automated equipment to improve safety, quality, repeatability, throughput, and cost.
Assist with basic electrical and controls troubleshooting when qualified, including sensors, switches, motors, relays, and related equipment; PLC and HMI experience is beneficial but not required.
Assist with creation and revision of manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, equipment or tooling documentation, drawings, test records, and other engineering records.
Work collaboratively with Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Room, Maintenance, Operations, and Quality to resolve production issues and complete engineering projects.
Assist in training production personnel on new or modified tooling, equipment, and manufacturing methods.
Maintain a safe, organized work area and follow applicable SOPs, work instructions, Good Documentation Practices, and quality-system requirements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge and experience with sensors, motors, relays, or automated equipment is preferred. PLC or HMI experience is a plus but not required.
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, including ISO 13485, cGMP, or similar requirements, is preferred.
Ability to follow controlled procedures, accurately document work and test results, and support engineering validation activities.
Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and willingness to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $34.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
